It'd be nice if people would stop calling it a drum; as I'm sure many have pointed out, while it is an essentially percussive instrument, the Hang has tones, a scale, etc., and really shouldn't be hit with sticks. It's more akin to a piano, really, than it is to a snare.

Very impressed. Exceptional composition. I know it took a while to work it out. I love the sound of the hang drum and the two of you together really emphasizes it. I obtained a Halo, but the sound quality was just not the same (way deeper tone), and I felt limited with what I could do with it and other instrument I could join in with. Also it was just that much too big to fit comfortably on the lap.Your combining the two hangs really brings them to life. Keep 'em coming.

Don't get me wrong, the drummer IS an integral part to the whole, but rarely does a drummer, of any caliber, take part in the actual tonal writing process of anything musical, unless you are Devon Townsend and play everything in the studio. I'm a keyboardist, and want one of these so I can join my drummer's world but still create tonally. Also, listen closely, there are so many overtones that ring out with this piece, that you guys aren't even playing. This is awesome!

What amazes me the most about this instrument is that it, among many others, gives the drummer the opportunity to actually write something musical instead of just banging skins. I've often quipped to my drummer, "Who is the one guy that hangs out with all the musicians in a band?" and my response is, "The drummer" because even though without them, the song would be less, they still aren't an integral part in the sonic tonal ambience of said music.
