'the beam is way to wide' Mate, we all get it after one comment. No shit it's wide, we can all se it! Theres reasons for it:

1.She's an actress, not an elite gymnast

2.They make it wider so the stunt doubles can have an opportunity to relax during filming so that the stunts look better!

Actually, that beam was more than real. It maybe looks wide for being on TV but if you compare it to those you see in an actual elite gymnasium, it's pretty much the same length, 4 and a half inches.

I like this show but its really unrealistic. I don't care about the drama outside the gym in this show, I have no problem with that. But the least they could do is make the gymnastics realistic. In the gym they all just kinda work on whatever they want and have like... one coach in the whole gym. And sometimes their routines are look like level 9 routines not elite gymnastics.

@VeryStrangechild I know and it looks more like a club meet that Worlds, at Worlds they switch the lights on for a start. And when did a gymnast have to act like a vegas showgirl on beam to win, not even Khorkina did that and she posed in Russian Playboy. And they have terrible steorotyping of the Russians and Chinese teams.

@drdecker666 They use 6 in. practice beams so that the stunt doubles can make more mistakes. It is a filming trick but unfortunately those of us who know gymnastics know the difference.
