I used avisynth, but you can probably do the same thing (but far easier) with after effect, simply by applying a black-white left-right faded image as time-displacement map. The sound is done with 5 instances of the soundtrack each shifted a bit on the timeline with a different volume (3 increasing 2 decreasing). That can be done with any soundediting software.
