Supposedly you give them your credit card number and they charge you $2 to ship you a free info package about the job. She gets her credit card bill. BAM they had charged her $80. We later did indeed confirm that it was google, and not some cheap scammer claiming to be google. Fuck those rich scammers!

the funny thing is that this was sgi's buildings before google, and my dad worked there when sgi was there in the 90's. It looked a lot like a corporate hell hole before. Another reason why working in silicon valley is better than anywhere. If you look at yahoo, facebook, microsoft and ebay now all corporate offices are going the way of googleplex. Compared to say general motors or ford which looks like a mega fortress where mixing between execs and engineers was totally out of the question.
