@FalconfromRF, you need to read a few books and memoirs about what happen to the ethnic Germans in Russia before you speak on "real genocide". While I am not downgrading the Holocaust, a less observed genocide started by Stalin in the early 30's with his man-made famines. It continued to the expulsion of all sorts of different ethnic groups to Siberia in the 40's. Am so lucky my gfather left Russia in 1907 and getting his mother and others out in 1912. My ancestral village is Kransnoyar, Volga.
Yes. The fuckers sure did not discriminate. They sent most of the non-russian minorities to the camps.
The ones they did not sent they executed.
This should be as big of shame to Russia as Holocaust is to Germany. Considering that they do consider Lenin to be their national hero. Mr.Lenin was a kalmyk thus explaining the slanted eyes and asiatic looks.
Yes, it was tragic... However, there was no genocide; Kalmyks, Caucasians, Tatars are victim of the war. Stalin never planed to kill them; he simply relocated them away from war zone. Real genocide is Holocaust.
My grandfather was killed in 1943, he did not side with Nazi Germany unlike other Kalmyks. Yet he was betrayed by the leader he fought for. If my grandmother wasn't Russian, I would be carrying a lot of hatred against the Slavic race. Truth is - Stalin killed many Russians as well.
This is the second genocide our people encountered and survived, not even the Jews can claim that, yet no one knows about us - this is how genocide can continue in the modern age. Sad fact.

@FalconfromRF the conditions the people were put through were equivalent to nazi concentration camps.

Heroes of the U.S.S.R. yet backstabbed and forgotten. Next time, we should make sure our loyalty is to our people first, the world second.

It is a great shame that our leader at the time was not able to bring in our Kalmyk brothers into Mongolia.
