The thing I love the most about Goldens is that they are whatever you need them to be in that moment. When I was little and I needed someone to show me love, my Jackie would only sit beside me and don't move from my side, and whenever I wanted to play she would be as playful as a puppy can be and not stop until I got tired. Most of the puppies she had went to help kids with down syndrome and blind people. I love this breed.
I was crying all the time when watching this video. Although I don't have golden or any other dog, there always happens some magic between dogs and their owners. If you give him or her your love, he or she will give you twice.
And goldens... it's amazing what they can do. I adore all dogs especially goldens.They are special. One day I will own one. People come and go to our lives, sometimes you give love to another person, but he betrays you. But not your own dog, your true and loyal friend...
@LongingForWaves i wish you could have a golden soon & experience the joyous times in your life, i just adopted a golden 4 months ago & he's 5 months old. i never let a mosquito near him he never lets an ant near me, he loves me more than i do. goldens are a happy playful dog breed they want to play in mud, grass and share the joy with their owners by jumping on them. but some people let them down in a rescue center. sad of them, so consult a vet which dog breed suits you.
Beautiful video! A golden was my first dog, someone dropped her off at our place when she was a puppy and I was about three. Her name was Buttercup. We didn't have her long though because she chewed up hoses and, unfortunately when I was five I had to watch her be taken away from a farm. She was really happy though! (Buttercup's BFF was a pig!) I learned she died when I was 14.
I'm 26 now and I would _love_ to get another Golden, but my family wants a medium sized dog. *Sigh!*
The driver said it was an accident, that she suddenly came out of nowhere, and right in front of him! We all were shocked and very saddened...I cried for days!

She was my best friend and companion...my comforter and just having her around was a comfort! She was family. She died 18 years ago...struggling with cancer, she asked to go out one day, and my mum let her outside. She was in so much pain, that we guess she ended her life! Although they have emotions, they don't have the capability to analyze and think about death. Dogs learn by association. Also, dogs have a survival instinct. They do whatever they have to do to survive.
As a young man, I had a golden retriever, she was named Candy. I still after all these years have her favorite toy: a blue rubber ball. I have kept it as a moment of her of her love and devotion. These dogs have a powerful empathy and emotion...very tender and smart. obedient and easy to train! They love to cuddle and play, and are great dogs to comfort the grieving, for they seem to share n the emotion, but how? Dunno. I miss ya still Candy! (sniff!)
my dad had a golden when my oldest was a baby and he was so good around her.we own a golden now and even tho we didnt do much in the way of training she is sweet and very smart.
Now that my son, with Autism is becoming a young adult, we are in the market for a companion for him. Other family members have had goldies and I think that one would be a perfect fit for our family.

Golden Retrievers are the best companions, I have/had two and they are simply amazing, they just live to please you and be with you, nothing else matters for them, they bring you unconditional love and friendship,and not to mention they are just stunning. I love my Golden Retriever Molly, who's trained assistance dog and my anxiety alert dog, she is the best and she has taught me so many things about myself and life in general.
A friend passed this video on to me when she stumbled upon it and recognized my Golden in it. He is the one who paws at me when I was sad, gets a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and turns a light switch on. Not only was it very cool to see my own boy, Bradley, in it, but it was also great to see service dogs represented by so many Goldens! They really are a special breed.
Goldens ARE the best breed for families and people who want a true COMPANION. They are simply bundles of love and humor wrapped in cuddly fur; they live to please their people are smart and easily trainable. I love dogs of all kinds - but Goldens are simply the best of the best!

Beautiful video! A golden was my first dog, someone dropped her off at our place when she was a puppy and I was about three. Her name was Buttercup.
