wait a minute... talking about black people in metal and forgetting Body Count is a capital offence... joking aside, I don't care about the colo(u)r of musicians because music matters, not some racist crap... as someone said, people are people...
@chikaBurton exactly. Get on here and it's a debate about who's better blacks or whites. who gives a fuck last I checked Chino was Hispanic not white anyways. any who rock on.
Sad to see people still can't see past color & realize people are people. Great art comes from every part of the globe, every genre... You just have to be open enough not to limit your mind & experiences by mere prejudice.
Its simply pathetic that people are STILL making fun, problems , statements etc, whatever of diferent races, black peps etc, come on guys? how childish is this shit now? in over 200 we're all mocka colored anyway :P, but serious a human is a human and can reach all what he limit itself to. No matter what color. :)
I love sevendust's home cd, it's my favorite albums of all time and definately my favorite of theirs, it goes (from favorite to least favorite) home, sevendust, animosity, seasons, next, they're all great cds, but even though I haven't heard their newest cds, I don't think anything will top home.
I wish more African Americans would go rock instead of rap. Killswitch and Sevendust are ear orgasms. They have a voice no white guy could imitate. Rap is shit.
@TheBallchinboy dude, voices are voices. i'm pretty sure their sound has nothing to do with their skin color... just look at Gojira or Dagoba. Honestly, I can't tell a black dude singing from a white dude singing, and I'm glad because that means that for all the differences in our physical appearances, we're all just fucking human. and to "sevendustfan234"... rock wasn't created by black people... it was created by a VARIETY of "racial" influences... jesus christ, what's wrong with everyone??
@Ghettobootywhiteguy I can. I'm not trying to sound ignorant or anything but black guys usually a baritone voice, where most white people are tenners. Also, I think what "sevendustfan234" meant was that the main influence to rock music, when it first started, was blues music. You can't say blues wasn't started by black people either because originally the blues was slave music.
@HeavyMetalMushrooms I say again, there's no real trend between race and singing voice; baritone is actually THE MOST COMMON voice type for ALL males, and I know few men, white OR black, that can sing in the Tenor range. Additionally, rock and roll has no "primary" influence... It's a pretty thorough mix of the many genres of music that existed in the early 20th century. I didn't say anything about blues NOT being a "black" genre either, so I don't know why you'd bring that up...
@Ghettobootywhiteguy I've been in choir for about 10 years, and i can say with confidence, that black males, have deeper, richer voices than white males, I've never heard a white guy who can sing like Barry White. Also, blues is the primary influence to rock n roll, along with country and jazz.
@HeavyMetalMushrooms "...along with country and jazz," That's exactly my point (variety of influences). I just prefer to avoid attributing anything to race alone as I don't believe that ethnicity should play a role in anything (the concept of "race" is out-dated racist bullshit anyway). I've been singing for almost a decade as well, and I can say with confidence that I've met individuals from every background that could sing with the rich, deep voice that you mention. I don't want to look...
@HeavyMetalMushrooms ...like I think I'm the political-correctness patrol, but it honestly offends me when I'm told that I can't sing like my black peers. I'm a baritone/bass primarily, and I like to think that I have as much "soul" in my music as anyone else. The best things in this world are the result of men and women of every culture coming together to make something beautiful, and I anticipate the day when I no longer see an "ethnicity" category on job apps, etc. PEACE :)
@TheBallchinboy I agree with you until you said Rap is shit. I hope you mean todays rap and yeah that I agree but Old School Hip-Hop is what many of these bands listened to and probably still listen to like Stef from Deftones. KRS-One, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man & Redman, Cypress Hill, Eminem, Public Enemy, 2Pac, B.I.G., Run DMC, etc are all pretty much legends in Hip-Hop.
@TheBallchinboy there is a cool thrash metal band called Hirax and their vocalist is black. there are also shit loads of bands with black vocalist or members everywhere in rock and metal, just gotta search for them.
a) most rap TODAY is shite. however, i still rock most rap/hip-hop prior to say 1992. these bands were partially influenced by THAT era of rap/hip-hop.
b) you've clearly never heard Living Colour, Jimi Hendrix, Bad Brains, Prince...i could go on. then again, as i've mentioned in another comment....skin color means nothing to me. all i care about is if it sounds good to me.
@TheBallchinboy dude rap is fuking amazing you obviously dont know what talent is your so judgemental i love sevendust and i love rap i like heavy metal and hip hop if someone likes rock that doesent mean every other gender of music sucks man think before you judge

@ButTheseGoToEleven Nu-Metal is a breed of Rock. then again, i really despise genre labels. i just call it awesome. also, rock music (no matter what form) is based in blues which was started primarily by black people. with all that said, when it comes to music today, skin color is not the deciding factor. it's all about the music having meaning, substance and depth (all 3 are lacking from most music these days...).

@peanutbuttercrunc100 No. I love Deftones and Chino but shreddinmetal4life is right. Even my mom said he should do some more 'powerful' singing. But this is how we know Chino. But It would be great to hear him singing with more energy. And I don't think shreddinmetal4life is jealous.

Ugh.....seriously, can Chino ever do anything different. He uses the same, slow, higher voice in everything he's ever done. I mean, jesus, does he talk like that too?

@jaymz81 for one you must not be from america. 2nd in america we have sayings for certain words and winning in america means in the way i refrenced it that it would be the most kickass band. thanks for asking now get a fucking life.
@jay58193 have fun with that dick! just a simple question and you had to jump all over it like a fat kid with candy...have a good day! stop being so negative towards things and people might like you!
@jaymz81 ok maybe in my next life with the dick because im gonna continue to be with my beutifull model wife that does not have a dick. and im positive i just take things the wrong way sometimes and sometimes it leads me to have to hurt people so if i typed offended you just be lucky it wasnt in person and, and that it didnt get ugly not to your benifet have a nice life and im gonna keep enjoying my fulfilled exiting music/women/money life thank you
@oldrippy85 I used to hold Around the Fur to that guard but now it shares number one with Adrenaline for me. They brought brand-spanking fresh material to the table with both records.
i've become a deftones fanatic over the past year, since diamond eyes came out. don't know if it matters, but i'm a chick who is now finding chino sexy after seeing THIS video.
@whatislovedonthurtme Diamond Eyes is my fave album, got me hooked with them too! Random info: Chino was fat during the last album haha but got slim again
Chino needs to do another teamsleep record n deFtones need to release Eros... I understand Chi's situation but frankly I dont care I just want the damn album.
@5spdzx3 there is no disrespect within my statement bro. I simply stated I understnd Chi's sitaution but that doesnt effect me I just want more music.
Just got my tickets in the mail today to go see these guys (Sevendust) with Korn and Disturbed as part of the music as a weapon V tour in Ottawa at Scotiabank Place. I'm going with my buddy as a birthday present to him:). Soo psyched!!!!
@Mrcastleskeep Hey man. Enjoy the show, for sure! Are you not a big Korn or Disturbed fan? If you could, would you mind letting me know what order the bands come on? I'm trying to figure out what time I should book my Para transpo bus to get there, and I don't want to end up missing out on Sevendust's or Disturbed's setlist!! I would really appreciate if you could do me this massive favour:). Thanks again man!!!!! Rock on:).
@sixfeetontop I love Disturbed and Korn (mostly the earlier stuff from both; first 2 albums or so). I've seen both of them live around 4 or 5 times. It's just that for me, sevendust is where it's at.
What I've been told about the lineup is that Korn and Disturbed are taking turns headlining every other show and Sevendust goes on second, after In This Moment.
@Mrcastleskeep I'm attending the show a little bit after your's in Ottawa Ontario at Scotiabank Place. Thanks for the info man! From what I understand it's going to be Korn with Disturbed, Sevendust and Stillwell (Fieldy's side band). I was aware that In This Moment was on the tour a while back, but I wasn't aware that they were on the 2011 Music as a weapon V tour for these upcoming dates. Did something change and Stillwell isn't on the tour anymore? I knew In This Moment was on the 2010
@sixfeetontop My ticket doesn't list the fourth band but I learned about the show from Disturbed's Facebook page and at the time it listed In This Moment as the opener.
@Mrcastleskeep Hey man, sixfeetontop here. I just wanted to say enjoy the Korn concert tonight, and let me know how you enjoyed the show:). I know I'm super stoked for when I go to the show! Take it easy man. Peace:).
@sixfeetontop It was awesome! Stilwell and In This Moment were both there but I didn't get there in time to see Stilwell play. Sevendust rocked my ass off, Korn was not that great but Distubed was very good and their stage setup was badass. I hope for your sake they headline at your concert.
@Mrcastleskeep That's awesome man! Thanks for the info. I'm glad you had a great time! Was Disturbed headlining last night? If so, I was going show by show, and Disturbed is headlining in Ottawa. If, indeed, they were the headliner's last night. DId you catch any of In This Moment's setlist? I'm just curious. I just gotta know one more thing, did Sevendust play Angel's Son in their set last night??? I love that song!!!!
@sixfeetontop Yeah Disturbed headlined. Wait till you see their stage set. Just awesome. I watched most of In This Moment. I don't really know their music but the one song I recognized was "I'm Dangerous for You". No Sevendust didn't play "Angel's Son". Pick up Southside Doublewide if you don't have it. It's a live set of accoustic versions and they play Angel's son. It's very good. They opened with Splintered, then Black, Rumble Fish, Pieces, Face to Face, Waffle and Enough is what I remember
@Mrcastleskeep Hey buddy. Super stoked for the Korn and Disturbed show tonight:). I heard from a friend that Sevendust won't be performing tonight because they couldn't cross the Canadian border:(. Do you know anything about that?? I was on their website and others, and I didn't hear anything about it, so I'm skeptical as to whether it's true or not. I really, really hope it's not! that would be a major piss-off if I couldn't see Sevendust tonight!!!:(. Thanks for any help you can give!
@muslimmetalman Relax kid. Both of these bands are amazing. No on asked for your opinion nor did they ask you to watch this vid. Go listen to Beiber, we're good here :)
Lajon actually sounds good singing this one. His scream is terrible, always sounds like he's peaked and he's forcing it too much. Chino amazing as always....did he help in the writing of the song too? Kinda sounds like how he would write
@ sylus6666: lol You couldn't have said it better! I think that this is one of the coolest songs that Sevendust and Chino have done. Thumbs up if you agree.
Oh my god why do people talk so much shit and are so fuckin' opinionated about their narrow perceptions?? Didnt your mommas teach ya that if you got nothing positive to say then dont say it?? Fuck off you little crying girls....
instead of arguing over whos better than who....why cant we just appreciate music for what it is...if you dont like it, dont listen and find whatever else that intrigues your listening pleasure...but constantly downgrading ppl or their music, etc isnt going to get anyone any where....just saying
hey guys do yourselves a favour, shut up. seriously if you don't like the music don't listen to it people who like the music aren't likely to want to read your bullshit arguement except if they feel like having a very small giggle at how sad you both seem.

@oldrippy85 I used to hold Around the Fur to that guard but now it shares number one with Adrenaline for me. They brought brand-spanking fresh material to the table with both records.

Just got my tickets in the mail today to go see these guys (Sevendust) with Korn and Disturbed as part of the music as a weapon V tour in Ottawa at Scotiabank Place. I'm going with my buddy as a birthday present to him:). Soo psyched!!!!
sixfeetontop 11 months ago
@sixfeetontop I'm hitting that tour in Council Bluffs Iowa. I'm mostly going for Sevendust. It'll be my seventh time seeing Sevendust!
Mrcastleskeep 11 months ago
@Mrcastleskeep damn got me beat, Ive seen them 4 times, twice with nonpoint and those two bands kickass together.
knot018 11 months ago
@Mrcastleskeep Hey man. Enjoy the show, for sure! Are you not a big Korn or Disturbed fan? If you could, would you mind letting me know what order the bands come on? I'm trying to figure out what time I should book my Para transpo bus to get there, and I don't want to end up missing out on Sevendust's or Disturbed's setlist!! I would really appreciate if you could do me this massive favour:). Thanks again man!!!!! Rock on:).
sixfeetontop 10 months ago
@sixfeetontop I love Disturbed and Korn (mostly the earlier stuff from both; first 2 albums or so). I've seen both of them live around 4 or 5 times. It's just that for me, sevendust is where it's at.
What I've been told about the lineup is that Korn and Disturbed are taking turns headlining every other show and Sevendust goes on second, after In This Moment.
Which one are you attending?
Mrcastleskeep 10 months ago
@Mrcastleskeep I'm attending the show a little bit after your's in Ottawa Ontario at Scotiabank Place. Thanks for the info man! From what I understand it's going to be Korn with Disturbed, Sevendust and Stillwell (Fieldy's side band). I was aware that In This Moment was on the tour a while back, but I wasn't aware that they were on the 2011 Music as a weapon V tour for these upcoming dates. Did something change and Stillwell isn't on the tour anymore? I knew In This Moment was on the 2010
sixfeetontop 10 months ago
@sixfeetontop Music as a weapon tour. I hope Sevendust plays Angel's son in their setlist:). That song is totally awesome!!!!
sixfeetontop 10 months ago
@sixfeetontop My ticket doesn't list the fourth band but I learned about the show from Disturbed's Facebook page and at the time it listed In This Moment as the opener.

@Mrcastleskeep Hey man, sixfeetontop here. I just wanted to say enjoy the Korn concert tonight, and let me know how you enjoyed the show:). I know I'm super stoked for when I go to the show! Take it easy man. Peace:).
sixfeetontop 10 months ago
@sixfeetontop It was awesome! Stilwell and In This Moment were both there but I didn't get there in time to see Stilwell play. Sevendust rocked my ass off, Korn was not that great but Distubed was very good and their stage setup was badass. I hope for your sake they headline at your concert.
Mrcastleskeep 10 months ago
@Mrcastleskeep That's awesome man! Thanks for the info. I'm glad you had a great time! Was Disturbed headlining last night? If so, I was going show by show, and Disturbed is headlining in Ottawa. If, indeed, they were the headliner's last night. DId you catch any of In This Moment's setlist? I'm just curious. I just gotta know one more thing, did Sevendust play Angel's Son in their set last night??? I love that song!!!!
sixfeetontop 10 months ago
@sixfeetontop Yeah Disturbed headlined. Wait till you see their stage set. Just awesome. I watched most of In This Moment. I don't really know their music but the one song I recognized was "I'm Dangerous for You". No Sevendust didn't play "Angel's Son". Pick up Southside Doublewide if you don't have it. It's a live set of accoustic versions and they play Angel's son. It's very good. They opened with Splintered, then Black, Rumble Fish, Pieces, Face to Face, Waffle and Enough is what I remember
Mrcastleskeep 10 months ago
@Mrcastleskeep Hey buddy. Super stoked for the Korn and Disturbed show tonight:). I heard from a friend that Sevendust won't be performing tonight because they couldn't cross the Canadian border:(. Do you know anything about that?? I was on their website and others, and I didn't hear anything about it, so I'm skeptical as to whether it's true or not. I really, really hope it's not! that would be a major piss-off if I couldn't see Sevendust tonight!!!:(. Thanks for any help you can give!

Lajon actually sounds good singing this one. His scream is terrible, always sounds like he's peaked and he's forcing it too much. Chino amazing as always....did he help in the writing of the song too? Kinda sounds like how he would write
H8CHylde 11 months ago
@H8CHylde The scream is the drummer Morgan Rose. He does most of the screaming in Sevendust.
Mrcastleskeep 11 months ago
they have powerful chemistry...I like Lajon on melodies. Not nearly as pro as Alice In Chains...but we're not dealing with gods in this case

instead of arguing over whos better than who....why cant we just appreciate music for what it is...if you dont like it, dont listen and find whatever else that intrigues your listening pleasure...but constantly downgrading ppl or their music, etc isnt going to get anyone any where....just saying

hey guys do yourselves a favour, shut up. seriously if you don't like the music don't listen to it people who like the music aren't likely to want to read your bullshit arguement except if they feel like having a very small giggle at how sad you both seem.
