  • i love germans speaking english :D

  • "nutspace"

  • @stevebquinn what do you mean by that?

  • if i would make a passive radiator i would do it with a blown speaker

  • @DJmonsty Yes, a blown one is the right choice for this. Thats exactly what i did, i would never sacrifice a working speaker :-)

  • @JillBattleSlut I agree, it's much easier and faster to just force the magnet off, but the way i did it it looks better :-))

There is a good feason for using weights: The resonant-frequency of the PR defines a zero crossing in sound pressure level, that is why the PR should be tuned at least one octave lower than the pushing Driver.

  • why did hey do that?! i thought he was going to put the coil an magnet on the bottem what was the point of all this o.0

  • @TOAST2472 Just read the title. Maybe lookup "Passive Radiator" in google, then you might get it.

  • What is the name of the song?

and what is the main sound given by passive radiator?

I have Infinity Basslink T. it has 2 passive radiator.

    i thought its 3 subs!

  • @Andyatallah The Song is: Bass i love you by Bassotronics. You can find it here on Youtube. The Main Sound given by PR is Bass.

  • @Elnufo

I have Basslink T by Infinity

it consisted of one Sub and 2 passive radiators

i thought it was three subs!!!

    it has three controlls

Bass bost, crossover and gain whet i have to do if u have any idea to make the sound clear and get benifit of the passive radiator! what dose crossover means??

  • @Andyatallah Crossover means Frequency. that is how low or high the tone is.

  • @Elnufo

ok so if i want to take the most advantage of my passive radiators the frequency should be high?

i mean to make them giving me the most bass they could.

  • @Andyatallah No, the frequency must be low. Bass has only very low notes.

  • I'm making a passive radiator from a speaker but i'm not sure if i should leave the spider on or take it of. The suspension is really stiff and it's already hard to move the speaker by hand. Should i remove the spider?

  • @Elnufo ok danke.

  • dude igot the same little speaker its an BMW dubble spl speaker loll

  • Hi,

Do you think the Conrad-elektronik loudspeaker series "DYH" are good for this use, especially the 12" version?

Which diameter would you recommend for the active speaker, if i want to use the 12" passive.

You can answer in german if you are german ;)

    Leo

    Gruss Michael

  • how do you no how much weight to put on the bolt

  • @zach718 well, thats kinda "try`n error" thing. I start with way to much weight, so that the PR doesnt work properly any more, then i reduce the weight gradually until it hits my taste.

  • hey man , ur video was awesome , I have a query abt my logitech 530 subwoofer , it dies out completely at lower frequencies and produces boomy bass , just wanted to know how can i improve and make the bass tighter , will adding a passive radiator help ?????

  • hmmm. wouldnt a passive radiator be 180 degrees out of phase?

  • @stevo0625 No it won't. That is because a

Passiveradiator does do the same as an ordinary bassreflexport does, it turns the phase 180 degrees. The alignment: Volume & passive is a Mass & Spring System. Those Systems do turn the phase, otherwise thy simply wouldn't work.

  • @Elnufo

ok, i asked out of curiosity not to discredit anyone or anything lol I am curious though because I was under the impression that the compression and decompression of the active driver caused the radiator to move back and forth. So if Im correct, as the active drive pulls in (toward the interior of the cabinet) it creates high pressure inside the cabinet and thus the radiator is pushed out (away from the interior of the cabinet). So isnt that 180 degrees out of phase?

  • Hey man, cool video. I've been doing a lot of research on passive radiators recently. I have a quick question. At the end of the video you said that in your next video you'd take a look at the recommended enclosure for a sub with a passive radiator, but I checked your videos and it looks like you didn't get around to it. My question is, is a sealed box within the company's recommended size going to work well with a passive radiator? Any other advice on the enclosure? Thanks!

  • @500lbkoolaidman thank you for your interest. unfortunately i didnt have time to make the enclosure-video, but it will come up soon. greets

  • Thank you.. very helpful :)

  • @trystanhardy i'm glad i could help. Have lots o fun making your own PR. Good luck :-)

  • very nice and useful tutorial ,thanks 4 sharing

  • @BaumDerProllige you're welcome^^
