  • to god be the glory

  • This is a 19th C hymn by Sarah Flower Adams, based loosely on Genesis 28:11–19,[1] the story of Jacob's dream. It can be translated as follows: "So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it..."

  • It is the music of one of the most sublime hymns, CLOSER OH GOD IT or Nearer my God to thee. God may have inspired the violinists on the Titanic to raise their last thoughts to Him, and offered up the hymn.

  • wwwdotExposingChristianitydotcom

  • He died so young because god loved him and wanted him in his great kingdom.

  • I dont like Elvis`s photos, this is a song for God ¬¬

  • Why! Why must someone so talented, sexy and god-like die so young!!! :'(

  • Yes Elvis indeed was a real lover of Christ.

  • this video is a bit deceptive...I thought Elvis Presley would sing the vocalized version of Nearer My God To Thee

  • praise god

  • Yes, it is from the famous movie Titanic. Just like the character Jesus is from the famous movie of Mel Gibson. Or Quasimodo from the likewise famous Disney movie. Culture goes on and becomes quite AMUSING.

  • Thank the lord

  • ELVIS is the king of music

  • Wonderful video, good job. Such a beautiful man with a beautiful voice, taken from us way too soon :'(

  • Mais perto quero estar

    Meu Deus, de Ti!

    Inda que seja a dor

    Que me una a Ti,

    Sempre hei de suplicar

    Mais perto quero estar

    Mais perto quero estar

    Meu Deus, de Ti!

  • Elvis didnt love the Lord, he loved the people, something more powerful than anything...

  • @ShagohodArkan How do you know, stupido??

  • @ShakinJonny Mira xaval, lo primero, te metes los insultos por el culo ( si insultar era tu puñetera intención ), Elvis era un tío que creía en la gente, no en estupideces sensacionalistas y anticuadas.

  • @ShagohodArkan Again,..how do you know Elvis didnt love the Lord??? How do you know???

  • @ShakinJonny Because he was smart ; ) not somekind of ignorant austrolopithecus

  • @ShagohodArkan How do you expect anyone to take you serious,, if you answer as an idiot?

A 19 year old Spaniard telling the world that Elvis didnt love the Lord?? WOW really impressing!

You dont know anything, about such a thing. Just acting like a jerk.

  • @ShakinJonny lol.. a stupid 45 y/o danish who has nothing to do than stay in youtube replying comments not directed to him.... leave me alone and dont keep wasting my time ; ) you can take your Lord inside your ass.

  • This the exact song From the James Cameron Titanic Movie if you listen to the music carefully you can tell apart the different versions of the songs and You can allways tell when its Camerons version

  • Some people love to see successful people fail. The more success you earn, the more people love to ridicule and tear you down. That's why Elvis took so much ridicule in the 70s thru today. He was thru natural God-given talent, so much better than anyone else around him, that people lost track. However, his legacy is cemented. He will always be the One, "the measuring stick" to all legends that come after him.

  • This is an excelent song but is not from the movie Titanic. It was in the movie, but is one of the most famous pieces of classical music ever written.

  • Rip Jesus? He still lives.

  • who's elvis?

  • @deadlybug how can you not know who ELVIS is, he was the KING of rock and roll

  • Someday we will all be re-united with Elvis. Farewell King, until we meet again.....

  • R.I.P JESUS KING of KINGS and ELVIS KING OF MUSIC!!!

  • Elvis sang this song too. It is on his Amazing Grace album which contains many previously unreleased gospel songs. I am surprised that it wasn't added to the end. It would have been perfect. Beautiful video though!

  • Elvis loved the Lord with all his heart. I get mad when people judge him because of tragic stuff that happened to him. We are suffer with "Demons" of some sort.

  • Very nice tribute!!

Oh and BTW someone said it`s not a christian song...Well yes it is, i`ve heard it played at church when i was a kid!!

Just the title of the song should tell you that it`s christian music

  • Nearer My God To Thee not a christian song?! That's like saying "I love Rock and Roll" is not a rock song. lol

  • I agree

  • best song evr and i love elvis when i heredis song i cry :'( just think ifu where on the titanic wit ur family and women nd kids 1st what about ur dad or unchel.

  • This is also the song that CNN will play before their final sign-off, at the end of the world, according to CNN's founder, Ted Turner.

  • "Remember this song? Its from the famous movie Titanic!"

Actually it is a psalm. (521.)

  • Sorry what is psalm? No offense!

I heard this song on Titanic...=D

  • It was played on the Titanic, but it is a Christian psalm. Just check out the related videos.

  • Wrong, it aint a psalm.. written by Sarah Flowers Adams - only based loosely on Genesis 28:11-12

  • @catkingpop Psalm, are praises to GOD. They were sung like songs to the israelites, the entire book of is in the bible.

  • @opivy07 oh...ok...=D

  • @opivy07 Yoused in The song "Sheep" by Pink floyd.

    Very accurate. Great Movie!

  • @opivy07 sung by the Israelites to GOD

  • @HulonBinkley I know I typed it wrong before

  • @opivy07 You can't call this song a psalm. Pslam are biblical songs. In actuallity there are only 150 pslams of which were directly inspired by God, this is a hymn. Still a amazing song nonetheless.

  • @danieladventist I didnt say it was a psalm, I just answered Cakingpops's question " What is a psalm?" Though I did previously think it was a psalm cuz someone on here said it was, but he might've mixed up a psalm and a hymn.

  • @opivy07 -- Hymns are what you're thinking of. Hymns are songs sung by the congregation in Church as worship and praise to God. Psalms, I believe, are individual books in the Holy Bible.

  • @Lndmk227 No, I know the difference psalms and Hymns. Psalms were written by the Isralites as songs, prayers and poetry. I realize that this video is a Hymn, but I was answering catkingpop cuz he asked "What is a pslam?"

  • @opivy07 you correct ;-)

  • @catkingpop I meant sung by the israelites

  • @catkingpop the psalm is a chapter in the bible.....

  • @catkingpop In Laymen's terms, it's a sung prayer that reflects what is written in the bible.

  • @catkingpop yes plz offense!

  • @catkingpop

Psalms are 150 chapters in the Holy bible.Part of the old testament.Maily songs written by King David.73 to be exact. But added versions and poems by others too.Google:)

  • @catkingpop I HEARD THIS AT MY MUMS FUNEREAL ITS A HYMN

  • @ProudAndZionist If nonone replied to you yet what is Psalms...it is actually a book in the Bible...has the most numbered chapters...it is kinda song book..

  • @ProudAndZionist

I Know the song from the movie Titanic...

  • @ProudAndZionist Please enlighten me what chapter and verse is the Psalm. Is this from the bible or ...... Thanks.

  • @ProudAndZionist

Yes what most people don't know is what happened at the last moments on the Titanic. As the ship was in its last moments, the captain of the ship called the passengers to gather and sing this hymn, The people went down singing this song. I was very upset when the movie did not show this but merely played the music in the background. They didn't want to show the truth but thye couldn;t hide it either,

  • Great Elvis tribute!!!!!!!

  • i was 12 years old when i sat i nthe cinema wit hhundreds of people watching this brilliant movie titanic. When this song came i started to get giant goosebumps on my arms and a tear run down my face. When i noticed it i checked other people's face and it was the same with over the half of al lother people next to me.

  • There is debate whether this song was actually played at 2am on 15 April 1912 aboard the sinking Titanic. But, what is not in debate, were the hundreds of lives lost that night. The scenes of the old couple and children facing certain death, were not really fiction, which is why this scene caused so many tears.

  • do u know what happened to that red haired mom that tucked the kids in before they died

  • They were locked in and could not escape could they.. The Cruise Line had not planned for this kind of catastrophe. They chain locked the lower decks which is where most ot fhe working class Irish families were--coming to America for a fresh start.. The rescue rafts/boats weren't even filled up. So many people that died could have been saved..

  • Great photos,new song to me.thanks,its Elvis;

  • Thanks Eric!

  • A wonderful tribute Baoling! Just beautiful!
