@Jomunhoz why does everyone have to ruin a good song with sissy ass comments like that?... listen to the song. give a comment on how you liked it then gtfo
This is a 19th C hymn by Sarah Flower Adams, based loosely on Genesis 28:11–19,[1] the story of Jacob's dream. It can be translated as follows: "So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it..."
It is the music of one of the most sublime hymns, CLOSER OH GOD IT or Nearer my God to thee. God may have inspired the violinists on the Titanic to raise their last thoughts to Him, and offered up the hymn.
Yes, it is from the famous movie Titanic. Just like the character Jesus is from the famous movie of Mel Gibson. Or Quasimodo from the likewise famous Disney movie. Culture goes on and becomes quite AMUSING.

This the exact song From the James Cameron Titanic Movie if you listen to the music carefully you can tell apart the different versions of the songs and You can allways tell when its Camerons version
Some people love to see successful people fail. The more success you earn, the more people love to ridicule and tear you down. That's why Elvis took so much ridicule in the 70s thru today. He was thru natural God-given talent, so much better than anyone else around him, that people lost track. However, his legacy is cemented. He will always be the One, "the measuring stick" to all legends that come after him.
This is an excelent song but is not from the movie Titanic. It was in the movie, but is one of the most famous pieces of classical music ever written.
God created polio, science cured it. God created small pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2.million different illnesses, science has found cures for many. God created infertility, science invented IN-VITRO and an estimated 15 million new lives. God`s life averaged 45 years, science extended it to 75. 100.000 innocent children died in Haiti suffocating beneath the rubble. This ALLMIGHTY god, didn`t lift a finger to help.Praise be to god !!
Elvis sang this song too. It is on his Amazing Grace album which contains many previously unreleased gospel songs. I am surprised that it wasn't added to the end. It would have been perfect. Beautiful video though!
Elvis loved the Lord with all his heart. I get mad when people judge him because of tragic stuff that happened to him. We are suffer with "Demons" of some sort.
best song evr and i love elvis when i heredis song i cry :'( just think ifu where on the titanic wit ur family and women nd kids 1st what about ur dad or unchel.
@opivy07 You can't call this song a psalm. Pslam are biblical songs. In actuallity there are only 150 pslams of which were directly inspired by God, this is a hymn. Still a amazing song nonetheless.
@danieladventist I didnt say it was a psalm, I just answered Cakingpops's question " What is a psalm?" Though I did previously think it was a psalm cuz someone on here said it was, but he might've mixed up a psalm and a hymn.
@opivy07 -- Hymns are what you're thinking of. Hymns are songs sung by the congregation in Church as worship and praise to God. Psalms, I believe, are individual books in the Holy Bible.
@Lndmk227 No, I know the difference psalms and Hymns. Psalms were written by the Isralites as songs, prayers and poetry. I realize that this video is a Hymn, but I was answering catkingpop cuz he asked "What is a pslam?"
Psalms are 150 chapters in the Holy bible.Part of the old testament.Maily songs written by King David.73 to be exact. But added versions and poems by others too.Google:)
@ProudAndZionist If nonone replied to you yet what is Psalms...it is actually a book in the Bible...has the most numbered chapters...it is kinda song book..
Yes what most people don't know is what happened at the last moments on the Titanic. As the ship was in its last moments, the captain of the ship called the passengers to gather and sing this hymn, The people went down singing this song. I was very upset when the movie did not show this but merely played the music in the background. They didn't want to show the truth but thye couldn;t hide it either,

There is debate whether this song was actually played at 2am on 15 April 1912 aboard the sinking Titanic. But, what is not in debate, were the hundreds of lives lost that night. The scenes of the old couple and children facing certain death, were not really fiction, which is why this scene caused so many tears.
