  • i love youtube and gema too. if we only heard the original stuff, it would be like mtv reruns forever. nicer to hear all these bootlegs and old live tv versions.

  • wwwooooww flipant!

  • Goddamn, Sting is fuckin' sexual....

  • This is probably the most romantic song ever, it's like kissing in the rain.

  • I LOVE YOUTUBE!

  • ナイスグットですよ

  • Heard this version for the first time a few mornings ago : ) Ahh...it's like dancing slowly across an empty Floridian beach as the sun goes down. It just has that kind of vibe :3

  • Wow...beautiful <3 A rumba needs this song, this particular version.

  • @ChimiChaCha27 true. with a proper cuban rhythm group behind him this would be a dancing dream. i loved the original overproduced hectic mtv version , but this version shows it's a very good song that stands up to the test of time. bravo señor sting.

  • @markmarktarmann Agreed : )

  • Quality - and the video of the single is one of the most joyous you'll ever see. Full of happy people having a great time, doing what they love.

You can't beat it (and Sting has a Beat T shirt on. Happy days.

  • magic song

  • THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

  • his voice in this one is not very clear though. Still Sting the best and in these days he is far more better singer. Not the best.

  • Wtf?? This isn't close to the song I'm looking for!

  • Everything she does is magic. . . yes it is magic . . .

  • For my Queen. Our time is nearly at hand.

  • Beautiful and very sexy.

  • in my opinion one of the most beautiful lovesongs to date, especially in that version... <3

  • Its not a 1977 demo!!!!

  • Очень нравится))

  • UMG almost blocked ALL THE SONGS.

  • UMG almost blocked ALL THE SONGS.

    FUCK THEM

    Really.

  • I can't find reasonable tabs to this song dammit

  • Argentina is the Police´s country!

  • beautiful

  • Did any one no that sting played in a movie called the bride.

  • @1238Lana And Brimstone % Treacle!

  • @1238Lana And Brimstone & Treacle!

  • Was this song already written in 1977? Never knew that. Great demo.

  • love the song and the band though cant stand the name i feel like taking a dump right on there bands name because it reminds me of scum

  • He did a similar version on The Howard Stern Show many years back, except he extended the line that ends "Now I know my love for her goes on" to "Now I know my love for her goes on and on and on and on and on." His wife was present when he sang it.

  • 好きです、甘い音ですね

    Sweet sound.

    i love it.

  • its an amazing version dont get me wrong...

but i need me some stewart copeland in this...

  • no copeland no magic

  • @MegaOffender

Copeland is a master batterist but we must recognise that Sting is a great composer. Peace

  • @MegaOffender haha

  • sting made the police, he was so talented

  • Beautiful

  • Grazie mille per questa inaspettata versione di un pezzo bellissimo...

  • if carlsberg wrote music it would sound like this..!

  • this is the best version :)

  • I do agree this is an acoustic beatiful version from Sting when is was "solo"...

and the voice is an "actual"voice".....but this version...is beatiful...

  • wow, this turns this song froma regular pop song to a pretty powerful song, not nearly as catchy but has much more of an impact

  • Tjisis NOT an erly version (DEMO) of this song, its a version made by Sting SOLO after Police Brake up... I got the bootleg of this.

  • @Agu2art so what, no need to be a dick about it, you dick ha

  • this is bueatifull, you can feel the song.

  • i love

  • He doesn't seem like someone who trips on his own tongue.

  • It's sublime.

  • This is not the younger Sting from '77; his voice is different now.

  • i want this to be my first song when i'm learning to play the guitar.

  • I NEED THE TAB FOR THIS SONG...

  • anybody got the chords for this?

  • great!

  • Magia!

  • The drums don't work very well onthe 1st chorus. It's a beautiful version though.

  • off Strontium 90

    cd

thanks for posting my acoustic cover of this classic demo - only song I listen to on the S90 album lol!

I think I prefer this to the Ghost in the Machine version, curiously

  • Too beautiful!

I had never heard this version before...

  • my first listen - damned good

  • . . . I like this version just as much as I do the other. ;-)

  • An Amazing song writer BUT this demo shows just how talented Andy and Stuart are and how important they were to the police sound. This could be a song off of a Sting solo album.

  • @KilmerVarient

I think exactly the same. But, in this case, this version is a masterpiece for itself.

  • it is so full of emotions, wonderfoul.

  • beautiful version.. better than the more popular one..

  • wow I never heard this version. the more popular version sure skewed my vision danm............ What a trip this song takes me on........

  • where can i download it

  • so when you find that person, where everything they do is magic. Make sure you tell them. You may lose them for 28 years or so, otherwise. G, everything you do is magic.

  • @Seva06 did that happen to you? :(

  • yep

  • great ---quiet, inspiration and genius at work. Thanks so much for this great upload.

  • wow, interesting demo, thanks for the upload, can't say i have ever heard this song, this way, i am kinda glad they changed it up, imo, it works better upbeat, and not as a slow song, but oh well

  • i was on last fm and apparently the police as we know them today were in a quartet called strontium 90 and this version of the song was the strontium 90 version or something

  • It was a side project with Mike Howlett of the prog-rock band Gong and Andy Summers and Sting. Chris Cutler form Gong was going to play drums but was unavailable, so sting brought in Stewart who he was already playing with in the Police. Original Police guitar player Henry Padovini wasn't working out so after these sessions he asked Andy to join the Police. the rest is history.

  • Found on Wikipedia (so take it or leave it): An album with some of these studio and live tracks (with the first recorded version of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic") was released 20 years later in 1997under the name Strontium 90: Police Academy. The foursome also performed at a London club as "The Elevators" in July 1977.

First time ever hearing this version. I love the Police version but this one gives it a haunting tone, which is like adding salt to something; different but still good.

  • They play this on the XM Coffee House channel. I looked up the song and literally hundreds of videos popped up. Somehow I hit this one FIRST ! Just the one I was looking for !

  • i love this.

  • Yes, the original instrument is called a "lute". Resembles a modern day guitar, but had a "bowl shaped" body and was smaller in size.::winks::

  • interestingly, the intro sounds a bit medieval, and then 30 years later...

  • Yes, it does, lol. What's the name of that instument -- a "ukelele". Gives it a very medieval effect. ;-) Still, very pretty.

  • Mandolin possibly?

  • Yes, I believe it is a Mandolin, which is originally from the "lute" family. I Googled "ukelele" and forgot that that instrument is a "Hawaiian guitar"; I don't think that's what they used, lol. ;-)

  • this demo sounds a hundred times better than half of the music we get to hear on the radio today! love his voice!

  • it sounds like bossa nova.very rare.thank you for posting.

  • Love this song!!

  • omg i love this song ... i cant believe this reminds you of me Danny Holdern ... you rock :) i love you darlin

    x

  • it was from 77 when stewart sting And andy first recorded together as Strontium 90 there was another guy with them to his name was mike howlett

  • It seems to Bossa Nova

  • Strontium 90? That throws me!

I though it was a "fake" demo ...especially since Sting demoed a song called Daytime Job for the GITM album that borrows from the chorus.

But since ELTSDIM was NOT part of the demos, the logically the band dropped the "new" song in favour of the "old".

Anyway, I'm putting up a video with (enhanced sound) Daytime Job and some other demos sometime soon... stay timed.

  • really great. makes me a police fan all over again.

  • That statement kind of confuses me....do you mean that jazz doesn't require any precision?

  • Comment removed

  • it's original track of "The Police" from their first album "Police Academy" (1977)... While recording this track "The Police" was known as "Strontium 90"
