Literally just made this now, all I can say is that; it was incredibly tasty, light and when seasoned correctly tasty just like good mash! Great video thanks!
So all your really cutting out is carbs and potassium by switching to cauliflower? I really like cauliflower but i'd rather have it beside my mashed tatters
I wonder, could I replace the milk with soy milk or almond mild or some other type of milk alternative? And how could I make the consistency thicker the way mashed potatoes usually are?
I dont understand isn't the whole point of rice and potatoes are complex carbs for your protein. Why use cauliflower when the real thing is much better for you, maybe not calorically but def nutritionally if you include the benefits.
I watched all of your cooking videos in one night xD What i rlly like is that i have most of the ingredients that you use in the majority of your vids
what about a shirtless viedo ? (not a gay thing, ....or maybe y e s ?... ) No, just to see, how your eating habits and your eating purposes work ? if they work very good ? would be nice. bye
@leanbodylifestyle I don't want it to look as if I'm criticising the video, I'm not. Just asking about the motivation behind avoiding potatoes in this particular recipe- to lower the calorie count I'm guessing?
Why avoid potatoes? It's a healthy, natural vegetable. I could see the point in using cauliflower as a substitute for rice or bread...but potatoes don't fall into that category.
@c0n0rH3aN3y potatoes are good for you, however when you're cutting, its usually preferred to cut your carbohydrate intake (not including veggies) at night so this is actually a pretty good meal to have with your chicken at 7pm or so..
@c0n0rH3aN3y your right its not unhealthy, but even though it is a vegetable, as in "any edible part of a plant"like a grain of white rice or a stalk of celery, it is mostly starch, like white rice. there are just fewer simple carbohydrates and more complex carbohydrates with cauliflower. all i know is one gets stored easier as fat and the other doesn't. so avoiding it or not depends on what kind of lifestyle you have and personal taste.....wait was that a rhetorical question?
@c0n0rH3aN3y New potatoes or sweet potatoes are alright, but not the big ones that people usually get :) the latter are v. high in carbohydrates hence glucose and that does not really help to keep your glucose levels steady :)
@c0n0rH3aN3y white potatoe causes your blood sugar levels to rise considerably. To control the high levels of sugar your body is forced to create more insulin to lower the levels of sugar. Insulin is a fat storage hormone, so if your insulin is spiked you'll be storing fat. The only time white potatoe should be eaten is after an intense workout as your body needs to replace the glycogen in the muscles and enables protein to be shuttled to the muscles to help with the repair process. Thanks.
@leanbodylifestyle Thanks. Your videos are brilliant, I recently subscribed to your channel. I think your subscribers could really benefit from you doing a video or a series of videos explaining the relationship between the foods we eat & the impact it has on our hormones when it comes to optimising fat burning and building muscle. It's just a suggestion, keep up with the excellent videos your making a positive impact.
Actually the microwave is #2 in containing nutrients, only steaming for short amount of time beats it. The worst way to do it is boiling it! And trolls this is a fact! Thumbs up!
since when has mashed potato been a bad food though it has lots of vitamins and is good for you ? this isnt a mash substitute, its cauliflower mash, which is fine but caulifloer shoul;d be cooked for a very short period, and almost eaten raw, but tbh in england we will have mashed potato and cauliflower on the same plate :) so its all good :)

You should try out some Unsweetened Almond Milk. Absolutely delicious and 1 cup (depending on brand) equals 2g carbs and 1g protein with 3.5g of unsaturated fats.
Nothing against the guy in the video but why do people in instructional videos repeatedly say "go ahead"? I'm gonna go ahead and give an example of what Im talking about...Alright if you're gonna create a video, you wanna go ahead and add "go ahead" at each step of the video. For instance if you're changing from blending to cooking you wanna go ahead and say "Once that's done blending You wanna Go ahead and pop this stuff into the micro". Take note. Every amateur instructional video. Go ahead
@bkedp pretty much everyone except proffesional speakers have words that they repeat in a lot of their sentences. No one's perfect but you cant exactly complain since it's not hurting anyone.
I like your ideas, and appreciate the videos. I like the taste of potatoes. They are a healthy vegetable also. If you cannot make a "healthy" mashed potatoes, my alternate is a baked potatoe or roasted potatoes. Califlower or brocolli on the side also with a lean protein.

This does sound absolutely gross. I hate Brocolli, and cauliflower looks like a huge white brocolli haha. Does the end result taste like broccoli?
tedoymisojos 5 months ago
@tedoymisojos Nope. Cauliflower is MUCH milder, and doesn't have such an overpowering taste.
