  • Love these videos!

  • The MSX versions made me want to hurt myself! =)

  • @CrazySandtrooper MSX version was a korean bootleg.

  • @vebxenon yeah. I knew it when I added it. But I added it because it's exists. :) I generally try to add everything I can to any given video even the unofficial ports.

  • @wingnut4427 Thanks for your answer. Actually, I didn't knew about it, and it's a shame that MSX, specially MSX 2 or MSX 2+ didn't receive great arcade ports... for your great comparations :D

  • Great video as always mate!

Let me ask you something. I recall seeing in the Retro Magazine ..err magazine, MANY MANY years ago about a Ghost n Goblins remake which was looking really nice but then I never saw it...any chance you ever saw that?

  • @shaolin95 can't say that I have seen it. Have You googled it ?? I found a link. I'll send it to you.. not sure if this is it.

  • They should have called the C64 version "The Human Punching Bag". Coz as a vigilante he's like one of Batman's turds.

  • The SMS port is AWESOME! Definitely get it if you have a Master System!

  • I thought this was an awful game regardless of platform, Irem just took their Kung fu Master engine and threw it at a soulless game. C64 version is extremely funny, the main sprite looks really camp.

  • This was a stinker on the old home computers.

  • Thank God for the Amiga..

  • Sadly I see no lets compare for Kung Fu Master. YIKES! It appeared on Atari 2600, Atari 7800, NES, Apple II, C64, DOS, MSX, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, and Windows. Could be a nice counterpart to this game :)

  • Makes sense this plays very much like Kung Fu Master -- Irem developed both these games. Nice one to compare

  • "Hey, CAMUH!"

  • It was on the Master System, NES, PC DOS (CGA and EGA), revamped DOS (VGA), Commodore 64, Atari 8 bits, Apple 2, Amiga, Atari ST, FM Towns, and PC 88/98.

Its the last Ultima that was on a ton of systems. I think U3 had a gob of different versions too. (2 different Mac ports. Original B&W, and the Lairware remake in OSX/System 9.)

  • @CaptainRufus I'll look into it :) but I must warn you. I'm lousy at RPG's lol

  • C 64 FAIL!!

  • @tommyjones1978 it was completely unplayable ! >_< a disaster !

  • Wow. Its painful seeing how bad some of the 8 bit computer ports are on these arcade games. I mean l loved me the C64 and I enjoy my Atari 8 but, but man should they not try to port post 1985 arcade games. Even the ST has troubles. (Yet somehow the SMS and TG16 come out like a boss.)

No wonder in the late 80s-early 90s I had a C64 for RPGs, a NES because it was popular (even though was the first kid with one), and a Genesis for arcade games.

PS: Any chance of comparing Ultima 4 maybe?

  • @CaptainRufus I'll look into ultima 4 .. but I don't think it appeared on many consoles. I usually try to go with things that spanned several consoles or computers. I'll look into it though but can't promise anything :\

  • @CaptainRufus Bombjack maybe, Bubble Bobble, and almost nothing more. You are right with the rest.

  • commodore 64 version SUCKS !!! it was impossible to play ! 0_0 that was the 6th take & that was the best I could do on it. >_<. The MSX Was a HUGE Disappointment. The ZX SPectrum & Amstrad were exactly what I expected. I think the Amiga version could have been right up there with the TG16 version with a little more effort. The windows remake was spot on !
