  • how ever it was, i am giving a presentation at my collage on the wave physics of stringed instruments and this was what i needed.. thanks.. i wanted to show that the strings dont vibrate on a single frequency but by a rather complex way..

  • I applied a similar rolling shutter effect to record my baritone 12-string guitar where you can see the strings wobble in real time. It's on youtube if you search for "magic guitar strings" - or click my name to find the video.

  • What year is this from?

  • @t0mmyb0y1983 i think it's from the 60's

  • You didn't film it in "high speed", you filmed it in "actual speed" with a high frame rate, then slowed it down. I actually came to this video thinking you were going to be playing some sweep picking or something. pretty lame.

  • @WMackbd if you have any experience in physics labs you'll know what high-speed cameras do. look up "high-speed camera" on wikipedia or something. it's used a lot to get detailed view of high-speed motions. have u ever seen slow-mo video of auto crash tests for example? they film those using high-speed cameras.

  • this is on bass status. lol so low tuned.

  • Wow, the last one was a dead giveaway!

  • now film a vibrator in high speed

  • Lol. Thats normal speed but it's un-tuned that's all.

  • Yeah, that's why I call this a fake...

  • It's a cool idea, but I agree with others - the strings are far to loose to be interesting. This is the same as shaking a simple piece of string. Tighten the strings to actual tension and the vibrations should be a lot faster and more interesting, not just messy swinging. Cool concept, though - I think strings in slow motion are cool to watch.

  • they aren't loose, they just look like it under slow mo

it like when you see a baseball pitch in slow mo and the crowd is sitting still, they aren't still, just seems like it

  • I agree with both of those statements except for the fact that heichelbech111 does not mean loose in general. Loose in comparison to what it could be. He's saying that something tighter would be much more astetically pleasing to the eye.

  • you should do slow motion harmonics

    that should be interesting!

  • PEOPLE LOOK FIVE MINUTES ALONE FROM PANTERA VIDEO ITS ALSO SHOT WITH A KIGH SPEED CAMERA ITS AMAZEINg!

  • This is interestng if a little short and unsubstantial. Agree with silverskyline about harmonics - that would be cool.

  • I suggest everyone take a look at Pantera's video 5 Minutes Alone. It features some really cool slow motion stuff, like strings etc. :)

  • they should film john petrucci's fingers on high speed camera

  • Those strings were sooo loose. Doubt that even made a noise.

  • it's a high speed camera -__-

  • No shit. I am not stupid, they just vibrated way more than they should, they look really loose.

  • Thatts the actual vibration a guitar string does, but naked won't let us see all the way it vibrates.

  • naked eye*, My bad

  • just like my ipc teacher tought me. it goes like a real wave.

  • record the string wen a natural harmonic is played

  • I'm liking the whole lose strings and like crap camera slow down thingy =]

  • pantera - im broken

     style!

  • ya that is the same thing i was thinking lol

  • lol wtf???

  • not as flimsy as my pecker tho

  • I highly doubt that you even have a pecker

  • wow those were some out of tune guitars.

  • you can tell because the A string wasn't doing 220 per second (=220 Hz)

  • A is supposed to be 440.

  • A is 55, 110, 220, 440, 880... Learn physics.

  • ok. I'm used to A being 440 for a guitar though.

  • Wouldn't the first A on the G string in standard tuning be A440?

  • haha those strings just look ridiculousy out of tune

    cool tho(y)

  • where can I purchase highspeed cameras?

  • lol firstly you need around 5ooo pounds

  • how many doallars is that?

  • dunno, as a guess $7000

  • You must be retarded

  • whats the point?? we all know they vibrate =]

  • cuz it looks cool

  • Dude. Tune ur damn guitar.

  • lol

    that just high speed....

    ¬¬

    its probably tuned

  • that was the lamest slo mo I've ever seen

  • those strings looked extremely loose

  • I think that's mostly becaues it's in slow-mo. Even tight strings vibrate pretty widely like that.

  • can barely see the B and high E string

  • once again, slow mo

  • Should have done a pinch and filmed it.

  • Yeah, that would be a bass...

  • crazy!

  • Neat, but 1000fps == too slow :(

  • yeah

  • yea i reckon but do u noe how much it costs for a 5000fps camera jeez i wouldnt even be able to buy it without payin ma child support lol jokes

  • ur not joking.

  • nice ;)

  • cool
