it was made to bring back the hot rod craze from the 1950's
its a good looking car but it has some intresting flaws
it had a v6 (not traditional V8) and very loud for a V6
it has no trunk space so forget the cross country tour (however they did make an attatchment pack for it that allowed for more space but i don't know how it would effect the convertable part)
also the roof was interesting because later models had manuel roofs but earlier one had automatics
lol I like how the interior kinda looks like those plymouth neon xD But i tought this car had way more then 253 hp? I was expecting something like 350+
Holy crap! I forgot these cars existed!! It's so badass looking and definitely one of the most unique cars out there. I'd love to drive one and see how it felt considering the shape and style.Thank you for videoing one Kyle, I now know a lot more about it! You're the man!!
I also loved these things, especially in purple with the trailer hitch you could buy for it as well. This is the first time I've seen the interior of one, and I have to say apart from the gauge cluster, the interior looks like any other late 90's American car, sadly.
where do you find these rare cars,dude......you're really lucky !!!!!!!!!..........i've only dreamt of 'em,,,,but drove some,,,,,,anyways thanks for giving us glimpses of amazing cars....you rock dude.!!!!!!!!
@cvu52479 i thought chryslers where trash too until i saw my friends 300, it never broke down, never had problems, very nice. so i baught a chrysler, turns out my friend got lucky -_-
These deffinitly have a unique design and look nice but I was never a big fan of it. Probably because I like muscle cars and trucks instead of hot rods
@Jakeman2164 hahahaha... ok I'll go have a fuck, anyways I was looking for it tonight..at least w/ my Prowler I can get sexy ass and get laid..you stay with your Camry and give love to fat women! hahahahahah idiot!
@Jakeman2164 Awww I just know you are a little kid who try to compare a Toyota and a legendry collectible machine, like the Prowler... and who talks about reliablity without knowing the meaning... If you would know a bit about automoible you would know that since a couple of years every word apply to a Toyota except reliablitiy....
And for you to compare the amount of horses your grand dad has in his camry to an alla aluminium - 2800 pounds 253 HP V6 cruiser like a prowler means YOU'RE DUMB
@Jakeman2164 Well to majority of people it's not the badge that make the car but the style...and while your grandpa's Camry will worth 5K$ in 10 yars this will probably reach the 60K mark! it's enough reason to buy this car and let the sun tan your skin... will you talk reliablilty someone allready put 600K on a Prowler!!
What's sad about this is people don't give much credit to these spectaculary machines, and most of these people are Americans... and then we ask why America is going down!!
@Jakeman2164 But your grandfather's Camry will never bring you a sexy ass in the Car while this will make every bitch on the street to suck your lil wennie!
Man, you got a Prowler between your (lovely) hands...drive it...testdrive it...rev the engine... have fun... don't be too serious. Life's sooo short to be serious..just have fun with a Prowler...
@blaknite1 did you notice what looked like an oil pan underneath the rear of the car? when he was back there. any idea what it was. ( could see it between the driveshafts)
@yamahonkawazuki The Prowler used Chrysler's A606 Automatic transmission. It's the same tranny used in the LH sedans (300M/Concorde/Intrepid). In the Prowler, the tranny is mounted in the REAR of the car. That's the transmission oil pan you see back there.
This thing sickens me, a great design ruined by Chrysler. Same key as my old 98 Intrepid, same guages(different position) same dings, same gear shift, and when I heard the engine I just HAD to comment and tell you.. even THAT sounds like my old Intrepid! The horn is the same too, which is very important with a hot rod! It's gotta have a good horn!!
At 36 I must be getting old. I just don't see the point of this car as a "look at me" statement.I'll take a Ram as my statement although they probably stand out just as much as an Accord or Camry lol! Ho hum I'm boring lol:)
Why the heck is the tach so close to the steering wheel and the speedo so far? I can understand it somewhat in a manual, but since this has an auto, why is the tach more important?
I remember when these first came out I was all amazed and crap about these cars but now that I got a look at the interior it looks like any other Chrysler with the exception of the gauge cluster setup. I've only walked or drove by these cars when I saw them in person but never really got a look in the interior.
