This song was composed by Jesse Fuller, and I its my favorite, but this one is great!

Very, very nice! The actual lyrics to this song seem to have become quite flexible over the decades, just as with many great old songs of the more distant past (see Goodnight Irene for instance.) Five stars for you guys!

I played guitar in a blues band in 1960 this was the song we closed the show with I had a kazzoo and harmonica round my neck. I met Jack in the same year. He was on a bill with Derrol Adams and the Reverend Gary Davies

First time I ever heard this song it was sung by Patrick Sky -every version since has been better (!). My favourite version is by Eric Clapton, though this is good - who used the kazoo first, I wonder

I believe Jesse Fuller, the originator of this song, played the kazoo on his original version back in the Fifties & early Sixties. Peter, Paul & Mary followed suit, as did Clapton. This song was sort of made for the kazoo, don'tcha think?
