  • Oo my fav lan evo

  • @lagundafire Not necesssarily bad for the motor if the upgrade is performed the right way. For example dont just throw a big ole turbo with a lot of boost on the stock engine, have a good boost relief system (adequate downpipe size and flow, and good blowoff valves.) Unfortunatley most people are all about turbo size and how much boost you are pushing, more then naturally aspirated engine upgrades BEFORE all the turbo stuff...

  • it probably means you will need a new turbo alot quicker than if you didnt have anti lag but it does nothing to the exhaust, all anti lag is, is exhaust gasses being pushed back through the turbo so the fans constantly spinning therefore no turbo lag.

  • i should drive an anti lag for a week at school and see if i get shot. all the gangstas drop to the floor LOLOLOLOL

  • Maybe it is bad for turbo and exhaust, but in the world of rally they are changed after ever rally or maybe between stages. Anti-lag is not good for everyday car.

  • so, wieder total beschäftigungs los wer will schreiben

  • @Nolube69er Yeah, they were standard on TMEs

  • @BenH333 No, they were not

  • @henkkaS4 Yes they were, the TME has the Evo 5 garnishes.

  • @BenH333 As far as i know, Evolution 5 Tommi Makinnen edition, or so called 6.5 was road going factory made car...

Is Anti lag road legal without special homoligation? No!

Plus, i've been around TME few weeks ago on a rally, one of our local drivers use it for everyday car, and it didn't had ALS for sure

  • @henkkaS4 Why are you talking about anti lag for? I'm on about the rear lights...

  • @BenH333 Holy shift, i feel so dumb now :S

Excuse me please, i don't know why i thought that you're talking about als...

  • @henkkaS4 No worries, we all make mistakes haha

  • I Just mastrubate with this

  • how much type of anti-lag exist´s ???

    i know 2

second fuelinjektion ( by chiptuning )

the other is a extra fuel injector in the exhaust manufold before turbo !

    right ???

  • so does the backpressure keep the turbo spinning when off throttle? honestly if I heard it, I would just think the guy needed to fix his timing advance..neat stuff

  • no, it just has evo 6 stickers

  • anti-lag. not good if ur a boy racer or a crap driver, nice way to put extra pressure on ur engine and turbo!

  • not a tme evo 6. has a evo 5 boot

  • this thing sounds like my fart!!

  • the evo 8 and 9 are the same the only real difference is the stereo and the numbers 8 and 9

  • @jimikestell1 bumpers are different too..plus some of the wheels differ from the 8-9

  • man if you nth just shut out, 8 and 9 has different engine, and this is a big and REAL difference

  • @jimikestell1 and the little wing thingys on the roof.

  • @jimikestell1

retard. evo 9 has MIVEC - completely different engine head

  • @jimikestell1 MIVEC? Aero Pieces?

  • Sounds nice :)

  • that Evo has some nice aggressive cams. always loved the VI over the newer 8's and 9's here in the States.

  • damn i aint seen a VI in real life all we have in colorado are 8's and tens

  • @killamore I seen 1 down in so cal but i couldnt make out if it was a 5 or a 6 but it looks way better in person. Evo 6 best evo ever (my opinion)

  • @jdoggybizzle can you not buy anything under an 8 here?

  • @rambow70 nope, not anything sold from Mitsubishi dealers. The 8 was the first gen that USA got officially, though there are imported 6's and 7's. I've seen almost every generation here at one point or another, saw a clean 7 this weekend. We're the USA, we perpetuated the automobile to what it is today yet we get screwed out of so many awesome vehicles.

  • ROLF you really don't know what you're talking about do you lol

  • Is it ur car mate ?

  • Was a friend of mine - now sold

  • its strokered up that turbo he got on prob gt35 r that doin no damage my anti lag been run on mild for 2 yr i never had change turbo

  • Oh dear!! LOL ROFL

  • LOL

  • @kaydawgg187 and how does it stand up to an STi? lol.

  • @Devastator771 haha nize

  • @Devastator771 it holds its own very well thanks, took out a 99 sti on the dunedin motorway in the south island of new zealand, vr4 was still sideways by the time i hit 3rd and the subie was a full car length behind me, dont know what was under subie but it had the fartcan and mack truck sised intercooler

  • i want dat for my car :)

  • itsnt that bad for your turbo and exhaust

  • turbo and engine of course...i need to inspect my car every week and change or repair parts every month...

  • exhaust? lol

  • yea lol, but it works great!

  • you wouldnt want a daily driver with antilag, ill just tell u that :P

  • @okeyden808 it's very bad lol. This guy's an idiot

  • @FastKart27 no its not bad atall

  • @okeyden808 Since many engine components are exposed to very high temperatures during ALS operation and also high pressure pulses, this kind of system is very hard on the engine and turbocharger. For the latter not only the high temperatures are a problem but also the uncontrolled turbo speeds which can quickly destroy the turbocharger. In most applications the ALS is automatically shut down when the coolant reaches a temperature of 110-115°C to prevent overheating.

  • @okeyden808 no u retard.

  • @jookdizzle no need for that comment. and yes it is bad with prolonged use.

  • @okeyden808 It eats up turboes..

  • @okeyden808 people say everythings bad for things on a car who cares haha

  • @okeyden808 it is, but it's great for low rpm torque

  • @okeyden808

yes its quite bad for the turbo and exhaust, but its cool cause it spits flames, gives instant boost, and sounds awesome.

  • @okeyden808 YES ahaha

  • @okeyden808 No... The car is made to perform that way (except for USDM, I believe) that way the little explosions in the exhaust after the driver lets off the throttle continue to spool the turbo and maintain boost. One example of when this comes in handy is when you're cornering and would normally fall off of the car's boost.

  • @okeyden808 No ... that is special edition evo ..

  • @okeyden808 yes lol

  • @okeyden808 it is, but when you are looking to shave off seconds of timed runs, you cannot wait for the big turbo you are running to spool... hence the antilag system... keeps the motor running rich (for lack of a better term of describing it) so that the turbo doesn't have to wait to be filled up again, making you go faster =)

  • @okeyden808 not if the turbo's been uprated to deal with the anti-lag, and as for the exhaust if its made of any kind of decent material it will be fine

  • @okeyden808 you need to upgrade the turbo otherwise it will blow it to pieces very fast

  • @okeyden808 yes ofcourse it is, but thats not the point :-P haha

  • @okeyden808 nawh its just a simple rev limiter

  • @stephanoiets rev limiter is rev the car up and let it bang and the bang is caused by 2 much fuel 2 the exhaust which would fuck ur car up anti-lag is a tottaly diff thing

  • @okeyden808 Yes you are right. The turbo and the exhaust will wear a hell of a lot faster. Race and rally cars are mainly used on the course rather than for everyday street driving. These rally cars are also built and owned by racing teams that have a budget suitable for replacing any damaged parts. Thats why you don't see street cars with an anti-lag system on the road very often. Anti-lag may also catch the eye of a cop and you will be given a hefty fine for having it.

  • @okeyden808 That's the price you pay for having INSTANT BOOST. It's hard on the turbine wheel...

  • That Evo sounds amazingly sick!

  • is it 280 hp?

  • Even though they say stock evo is 280hp, it's actually like 300hp I heard.

  • awesome, cheers mate..

  • hey mate what size exhaust tip is on that?

i just brought a TME and its completley stock i want to put an exhaust on it and i reckon that the size of your cannon is exactly how i want mine to look aswell..

  • I would say that it's probably a 4,5 or 5" exhaust tip.

  • no way 5 inch hahah

  • I would say it is

  • looks like a 3,5 or a 4 inch to me

  • your ecu advances an retards in the situation ov baking of to create a bakfire that then spools ur turbo, redy for ful bost wen u hit the next gear.

  • what is an antilag ?

  • Today's WRC cars also use anti-lag systems which feed air directly to the exhaust system. The reason is that these systems are more refined, more effective with advanced computer control, and also quieter

    This is what i know

  • ooooooooooooooooaraaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr

  • what standard evo's have is a rev limiter at +/_5500rpm in 1st gear and clutchpedal fully pressed. Antilag is a system designed to have turbopressure in a stationary state, What it does is flush huge amounts of petrol througt the cilinders for cooling, build op tb pressure The presure build up and violent release of that pressure is what dramatically shortens turbo & exhaust life. But who cares it's a WRC system and it's a sacrifice you make for competing

  • surely that aint good for the engine??

  • what is an anti lag ??

  • Not exactly sure how it works but its turbo exhaust and it reduces the turbo lag i think the turbo keeps spooling when there is no gas and thats why theres fire...look on wikipedia lol

  • Its something you get done to your ECU.

It ignites fuel when you lift off and it keeps the turbo spinning. Its so you dont get turbo lag when you change gear and things.

  • get your facts straight.....

  • lol ok i got it wrong. I thought i knew but if im wrong im wrong.

  • Fuel is always getting ignited, as long as the engine is running :L

I'm guessing it somehow keeps the turbine going, so inbetween gears the boost is still being made by the compressor end.

  • i gota TME in my GReddy evo 8 =]

  • dude dont hate he put an evo 6 in his evo 8 so he can evo while he evos

  • This is what the Japanese call the misfiring system. Cool Shit !

  • Thats a Straight Evo :D

  • aha, than i will need to buy an ECU :( This will really cost. Argh have still 3 years to save the money :P

  • where to buy this anti lag system? looked everywhere

  • its usually a feature on alot of stand alone ECU's and some piggy backs. A good stand alone will usually have anti-lag and 2 step launch. It does shorten the life of your turbo and u cant really daily drive it...

  • Evo-6 TME, best evo EEEEEEEEVEEEEEEERRRRRRR IMO

they need to make Evo-X TME lolz

    that would be DA SHIT

  • my fav evo ever TME awsomeness!!!!!

  • innie721, idiot its evolution not revolution...

  • "innie721, idiot its evolution not revolution... "

Hahahaha. Good catch there dude. ^_^ Revolution...what was that guy thinking...

  • im talking about the Mitsubishi Lancer CE we get here in Australia, I dont think you get them elsewhere... they're 1.6L N/A 4 cyl with about 60kW stock, FWD and look "sporty" like the Evo, so idiots put the Evo spoiler and "Revolution" (trying to rip off Evolution) stickers that you can get for them...

  • THE BEST EVO BY FAR

  • its the signature spoiler and the sticker is just to show off lul

  • but on the 60kW FWD girly model? lol.

  • evo VI is my favourite car...

got a 1.7 puma now and that is rapid!!!!!!!

check out my cars cars cars playlist to see the rest of my dream garage

  • don't tell people you have a puma. It's like telling people you like to dress as a woman on the weekends.

  • you haven't got a clue have you?!

tiff needel drove the puma and said it was one of the best handling cars he has driven and he rated it as car of the year.

There is NOTHING to compete with it for the price, nothing comes close.

Absolutely flies to 120mph and braking / cornering is mint too! Sounds fantastic even with stok exhaust.

only my Suzuki bike beats it for fun and that's what it is all about!

  • chill man - jus kidding.

  • how long can the turbo n exhaust last with the Anti lag installed?

  • A week? maybe 2.

  • t0t4

    Calm down.

it should last probably around 20000-35000kms

  • Well... then it must be a damn good turbo. I've read a lot about this system, and ppl say that it doesn't last that long.

  • When you think about it.

Compared to a standard set up 20000-35000 ks isn't a long time. also in street cars alot of people only use the anti-lag during launches only.

  • the car is already sweet.

with the anti-lag system is better. lols.

  • Just the car to live out all your Tommi Makinen dreams in...

  • I've just come. God damn that car is outragously good looking.

  • Same here, I have a 2004 WRX Sti, but also want this evo 6. It use to be my dream steet/rally car, and still is.

  • up till now i still want an EVO 6 more than anything!

  • that evo sounds beautiful

  • Lovely TME,

  • the TME is still my favourite... quite rare now tho lol

  • She's now back on the road with the above spec running 478.1bhp. The 2 bar boost feels yummy too!

  • SWWEEEETTTT! Matey

  • T.. M... E...

  • could anyone explain to me what does turbo lag mean please?

  • its the time it takes for the turbo to spin up and give the car power...the anti lag systems keep the turbos spinning

  • What is needed to fit anti lag? I understan the purpose of it but how do you go about geting this fited to the likes of a evo 6? sory im new to this jap turbo stuf.

  • I mean evos, when did i say anything about turbos only being on jap stuf, dick ass!! I ment i havent had a evo before now! And y not ask a question regarding the video, But dont wory maybe some1 with mechanical knowledge will be fit to anser my question!

  • why not? youtube is filled with knowledgeable people and tons of information...asshole.

  • i think its done by changing the ecu. might not be advisable for normal road use, lots of people report premature turbo wear when using anti-lag. i think ceramic blades may help this though

  • @DuDaX "Turbo lag " is say you have an evo 6.5 the same car thats featured in this video youre driving on the freeway or highway what ever you want to call it , youre in 5th gear at 2500rpm you put youre foot to the floor "you will experience lag , a sort of delay as the turbo spools up to roughly 2900rpm 3000rpm once the turbo has spooled up thats when the car is producing its peak boost and is really starting to boogie , the tme evo comes on boost alot quicker than the newer evos ,imo .

  • @kiwinrg Thank you. So with an anti lag system, the car keeps producing power so it doesn't lose it too much on deceleration?

  • @DuDaX its not producing power. The ignition moment is sat on late, so the spark comes when the exhaust valves are open. So now more power, cause there is no pressure raise in the cylinders. Thats why there come flames out of the exhaust. The air-fuel mix is still burning in the manifold. Thats all done to keep the turbine of the turbocharger spinning while decelerating. Otherwise you would have a lag on the turbine when accelerating again.

  • @sylverzerom Got it. Thanks for the explanation guys ;)

  • you got da Joon Angle

  • SWEET!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • NIIICE!!!!

  • Sweet! It's a cream the jeans backfirin' machine!

  • Thanks for the comments guys, she's mine! About 3 months after this vid she blew up! It is an Evolution 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition, the tribute model to Mr Makinens success. A Tarmac spec Rally car. Full engine spec is: Eagle 2.4 forged crank, Oliver forged I beam rods, Wiseco forged pistons and rings, Crower valves and brass guides, Crower springs and retainers

Crower 272/272 camshafts, Crower adjustable pulleys, AMS VSR Inlet manifold, AMS Fuel Rail and Autronic ECU.

  • i would imagine so, the ALS is exteremly hard on the turbo and the motor.

  • that was the BEST really car ever.

  • To be able to own an Evo 6 TME, awesome car. Had a chance to buy one but didn't make enough money back then to buy it. Is that the TME Rally car or an Evo 6 made to look like the Rally car?

  • nice evo 5, 6 those are the best can't wait till i boost my 98 lancer

  • ALS is best for Rally Race

  • Car porn at it best :D

  • its sick but at what cost.

  • it does run the risk of melting your exhaust and turbo systems, but with a "mild" setup you can run it for years with very few problems.

  • hows it work

  • for all who dont know, anti lag uses unbunt fuel in the exhaust manifold and turbo using it as the combustion chamber which keeps the turbo spooled up and in boost, yes it can do damage to the turbo and exhast manifold mainly

  • ok so it keeps the turbo in use or something w/e

  • It keeps the turbine in the turbo spinning by genrating exhaust gases even with your foot off the gas pedal... without the sytem the turbine is just "coasting" when you lift your foot off the gas pedal cause there are no exhaust gases being generated to pass through it

  • bascially, it just keep spooling up your turbo, not resting for turbo, after anytime, so u gain low end power with turbo also. But for turbo thro, dies out fast.but imagine u own a evo with anti-lag and drive it at street, olalal the car behind u gonna get fucked.

  • awsome machine..!!!!

  • it hurts the exhaust doesn't it...

  • It hurts the turbo really bad.

  • Correction, it kills the engine over time. Good for racing if you have money to rebuild or buy a brand new engine.

  • Not the engine just the turbo.

  • nah

  • sick!! nice cars.... nice sounds... love it!!!

  • tight!!
