Why do dates keep getting changed? The end of all as it is was supposed to have changed in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2011, 2012 but yet again its pushed to 2013. I was a big believer in the better world coming but when u look at how the dates are always pushed further I start having doubts!

This ascension is a New Age belief, the short of which basically says that around Dec. 2012 much of humanity will "ascend" to a higher state of being basically so long as they are more loving than hateful, and that only the people who want to live in a world that is more dark than light will not ascend.
I guess similar in some respects, but nothing to do with Christianity.

There are few actual Biblical details, but scriptures do outline the process in several places, i.e. the return of Christ, the Angels "harvesting" us, the separation of the wheat from the chaff. If you prefer to analyze it from a scientific point of view, then thought is going into the fact that we're close to that event occurring and we all need to be ready.
