This was MAGIC at it's best! NEVER was the MAGIC accomplished through the use of editing, or special electronic gimmickery. No special 'cuts" or "edits"! TRUE SKILL and PRACTICE made the magic happen! Filmed with a live "REAL" audience, not a bunch of actors! He ALWAYS did it that way! And, I'm SO GLAD that Mark Wilson kept his integrity when presenting the "art of magic"! MAGIC owes Mark Wilson it's TOP HONOR! Todays TV tricks use methods that are "cheap & easy", and critics agree, it's AWFUL!
Hi nupanick, Many thanks for your explanatory comment. I have sent you a copy of the response I e-mailed to cups and balls, which explains everything in more detail. But, the best thing of all for me were your kind words. Happy Magic! Mark Wilson
Thanks for comment. I have never used any camera trickery on TV. We devised new black art Poppin Fresh animation method with 3 puppeteers using cables and rods. It looked great and Pillsberry loved it. It is essential magicians never use any camera trickery, as viewers must believe they are watching OUR magic on television, not the magic OF television. Happy Magic! Mark Wilson
"At no time any camera trickery of any kind" . And it was true. If only today's "TV magicians" (CA ,etc.) could make that claim. Mark Wilson on TV and Mark Wilson Live were the same act , and he didn't have to depend on camera tricks and fancy editing to make his illusions work.
My wife got me some Wilson videos a couple of years ago, and I just asked her for circus vol5-6. She surprised me with an autographed picture, and an autographed card. When I was still in single digits, which is decades ago, I saw him on a Thanksgiving Day show called The Magic Man, which you cannot get in any format. I actually spoke to nani on the phone once, it was a big thrill. Watching mark on TV since the 60's has made me a lifelong magic fan.
