OMG I have this movie somewhere lying around in my house! I love this movie, even though it was quite awkward, but in a way intriguing. A really good movie to watch though.
In my top ten list on best films ever. The, other NiNe: The Pianist by Michael Haneke Dogville by Lars von Trier Samaria by Kim Ki-duk Last Life in Universe by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang Dog Days by Ulrich Seidl Songs from the Second Floor by Roy Andersson The Tenant by Roman Polanski Cecil B. Demented by John Waters AND Battle of Algiers by Gillio Pontecorvo.
I really do not agree with you mabutaleb. This film do not ridicules the Palestinians cause. It show how things are really going on there and plus, and funniness is also the way that Palestinians choose to talk of there issues. Love the movie, the actors !
Lol, it shows how palestinians are in rearlity??? You're in denial. Their life there is poor and helpless and has to stay that way. You actually want to tell me that theres a palestinian chick
that has some super powers walking and killing israelis in Israel? ITS A MOVIE, Just like American movies where they show that how ''great'' americans are. Its all movies, not reality.
I big to differ. This is not the reality of the Palestinians!! The reality of the situation for the Palestinian people is one of excessive violence and injustice and cruelty and people losing their family and children having to see their parents gored and vice versa. And that's even before the Gaza War.
the reality is much crueler, much darker and vile to be to demonstrated in such a subtle, undermined fashion. A love story!! People there are thinking of much more basic needs!!
Well, that's not true. Look at the films of Roy Andersson, wich you haven't, that I know, or Buster Keaton or look at The Dictator by Chaplin. Yeah, go an look at them films then cum back and tell me sumthin.
look I understand that Elia Suleiman is an academic and his approach to film is very intellectual. What I'm saying is as one of the very few movies about the Palestine issue to get recognizes - apart from Paradise now - its a shame that it doesn't show the brutality of the Israeli regime. The movie is good, i can't argue otherwise, but i just think, from a cause point of you, a first international film about the conflict and the humanitarian crisis has to be direct, powerful story telling
and Hey, its not right to assume a condescending tone just because i disagree with you. Have you read Palestinian walks by Raja Shehadeh, have you read The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Pappe, Have you read The Image and Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict. or any of Robert Fisk's articles in The Independent?! go read those, and then come tell me this movie does the cause justice. by the way, I guessed you were 23 before looking at your profile, I swear. it shows in the way you write.

@vivakimo Why is it that I always have the alarm bells ringing when someone calls a movie "intellectual"?

using forced subtelty and abd humour under the name of wit to support a cause hurts the cause and redicules. this movie is way overrated.
