Daft punk sampled a lot of older songs to create new stuff and the research/general love and passion for music is what makes them great. Not just giving fans what they want but making stuff that really shows that they're gods of music no matter what genre...
@sexyrexysexy What guided me all the way here is the fact that you rarely come across a song that was butchered, sliced, filtered, sampled, filtered, fitted with different vocals and to see a final product just as good as the original, if not better. I hate 99,99% remixes, but the French seems to be brilliant at it. Think that's the French House magic.
Way ahead of its time & timeless. Stardust's version or RIP OFF of bassline & jingle already sounds like shit. This still sounds great and showcases Chaka's vocal ability. (none of the new skanks can sing like this).
@sexyrexysexy I posted my original comment on the wind up so muppets like you would bite and boy did you take the bait you stupid fucking idiot hahahahahahaha
in 17 years Thomas Bangalter will take a sample from this song and create "music sounds better with you" with Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond as "Stardust"
@MrNoodlesIvanhoe We're all here because we have an attachment to this song, which was on an album that was part of a era of high quality original synth rnb/disco/funk/boogie that has yet to be matched. It's sad that it was to be distilled into a catchy but less interesting French house song, but let's just enjoy it together, no?
I understand what youre saying by 'less interesting" as its oviously a repetative vocal over a recycled bassline but surely you can appreciate the idea.
The sampling of an older track and the musical knowledge/genius I guess to recreate something and turn it into a modern and maybe even timeless song.
Not many artists these days would even understand the beauty of making a great new tune with a sample of an older track like this.
Magic!

@vanmcmarco69 Their song is not exactly a cover, mind you.
They only used a sample from Chaka's song to create their own retro song.

guitar chords?
aarreessppllaann 10 months ago
Ebsus4 (last chord of the intro before the quarter rest)
This is the chord progression for verse #1:
Abm > Ebm7 > C#m7> Ebm7> Abm > Ebm7 > EMaj7 (x2)
C#m7>Ebm7>C#m7> Ebm7>Emaj7>C#m7>Ebm7
I think this will be enough for you. Good luck!
