Johnny has been a part of music for everybody from AC/DC to ZZ Top. He is truly the greatest music legend that wil ever leave a shadow on this planet.
What is amazing is Cash is STILL incredibly popular with "kids". Early 20s etc. Not only was he ahead of his time. But he remains timeless. I agree with OzzyCoop. I dont like country but I love Johnny Cash.
I was really impressed w/Johnny Cash when I was little. I would sing Folsom Prison Blues and Burning Ring of Fire! You never knows what catches a child's attention. Great man and fantastic entertainer. RIP
Wow... the good old days when a performer really was a performer. Remember when the singer would actually SING the song on an award show? No lip sync, no dancers, just a damn fine musician at the top of his trade. *sigh* Now what?
Brilliant..shame the video stops before the end of the song though. There is a guy called Billy Connerly who wrote a song called 'Boy named Hugh' (played on a banjo) a comedy version of this one. Have a look its worth a listen. PS Hes not the 'real' Billy Connelly' but hes very funny indeed....
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews (dot) net It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position.
There is software im using to send atleast 30,000 text message a day advertising my online business...it is amazing. I think they have free demos to try as well.

I was there the night that Johnny Cash played in The Kingdome in May of 1976 at the Billy Graham Crusade with over 75,000 people in there. It was record that was never beaten for a Kingdome event.

A great example of '70's anti-humor. Steve Martin believed that so long as you acted funny, people will laugh whether you're funny or not. (Nobody wants to seem un-hip by sitting there and not getting the joke.) It helped when you had a laugh-track behind the "comedy". Eventually people realized that the emperor had no clothes and stopped laughing, but it took a long while.
@DivaHelget it was sex and vulgar humor then too, it was just subtle by law. if you didnt get it it was because you werent clever enough, but they were all sex and vulgar and pervs they just couldnt get away with it. they werent more moral, they were just restricted.
I'm bettin' Steve's wishin' he brought his banjo, now.

I've never heard such piffle. The Jerk, Man with Two Brains and Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid are very funny films, as funny as Steve's early stand up.

I think you're right, looking at old american shows and standups, American audiences would cheer and laugh at anything.
