  • dreamlike. (:

  • We have been blessed with great female singers over the years. Patsy Cline, Whitney Houston, Judy Collins to name some of the best. None could sing a ballad as well as Mary Travers

  • Music takes us back in time especially to the place we were when we heard the song, for me, Peter Paul & Mary were componants of my childhood, so just to listen to them takes me back to those carefree days again, of long summer holidays and endless sunny days. Oh to go back in time for real !!

  • Can Time going back? now just memories remain.

  • Wish we could have you back.

  • Love you Mary, and miss you lots. You left on a jet plane, but your music remains and will never ever leave. Thank you, and rest in Peace. Gary. xx

  • still think john denver is better on this song

  • I was infatuated with Mary when I was young. Their music made quite an impression on me and I carry that to this day. I was really said when Mary passed away. I miss you Mary too. RIP.

  • remindes me of my gym teacher...I dug her!! 1970!!!!

  • Miss you Mary.

  • I hate that she had to go too. RIP Mary Travers

  • Thank God Mary you didn't have to go though airport security today.

  • mary mary mary.... wait for me...

  • Miss you...Mary...

  • For a lady who had a lot of great moments--this is your best. You' re remembered and loved.

  • THE BEST THAT HAS EVER EXISTED

  • John Denver does a great job with this song he wrote but Peter, Paul and Mary own it. This is probably many Viet Nam vets signature song for Viet Nam because when Mary hits the part about "not knowing when I will be back again" it strikes a chord at least for me and the fact many of us did never come back again.

  • @wilcarr1 Thank you, and welcome home. I've spent decades educating people about the cost of war, most unseen by the public. Peace to you my friend.

  • cool magical song

  • My (former) wife and I saw Mary at The Troubadour in West Hollywood back in the Spring of 1973. It was a memorable night, she was a memorable lady. Anyone who believes that issues of peace & civil rights are noble causes lost a dear friend when Mary died in 2009. Without her it's easy to feel a loss of social conscientiousness in this world that cannot be easily replaced.

  • @MrRonnieG Mr Ronnie, I say Amen to you...they were so important to the movement...She was a real Draw, the sexy beautiful Mary...God I miss her...a voice so soft , yetso powerful at the same time. They were so good together... what else can yo say...they really helped legitimixe folk music...

  • I LOVE this woman!

  • I can't decide who sings it better, Mary or Denver. HHHMMMMM......

  • @LoverOfMusic120 I went to war to this song playing in the morning I left, kissing the sleeping love of my life. Oddly, this is the song I returned with as well. John Denver, In my opinion, can't hold a candle to Mary Travers doing this rendition, (albeit I left in 69 to the full PPM song). When I returned, I had changed, and the love of my life and I parted ways, but not a day goes by when I don't think of her and hope her life was spectacular...even without me. I still love her.

  • @rasputin1952 Man, I'm so sorry. :( I do think that Mary has one of the most beautiful voices ever, and it was tragic when she died.

  • @ollilover666 So long ago...but I am grateful I think of her everyday...love is funny like that.

    thanks for the reply.

  • @rasputin1952 /John Denver did a great job but Peter, Paul and Mary owned this one. I left for Viet Nam on December 9,1969 and served as a 11b10 infantryman with the 101st Airborne division and I believe this is the signature song for me on that period. I remember the sinking feeling when my Flying Tiger Airline jet left Travis airforce base in California for Ben Hoa. It was probably one of the saddest and fearful times of my life. Welcome home friend.

  • She is one of the greatest singer in the world, we love her.

  • i never heard this song sound so soulful!!!! RIP MARY!!! U were an ANGEL and i am sure you sing among angels now... heaven is lucky to have u!

  • 46 at this filming, and still hotter than f**k!

  • what a beautiful woman. R.I.P. Mary.

  • I remember this song playing on AM transistor radio. I am so thankful to have lived to hear this song as part as my childhood, though I didn't realize the true impact what was really being said (war). I grew up with the greatest music ever.

  • Bravo! Heartfelt performance. She was a Treasure that somehow was under the Radar screen more than she should have been.

  • how could it get any better than this mary is so beautiful and her music brings back so many memories when i grew up.i can not exspress how much her music meant to me.i really miss her.

  • mary is so pretty and her voice is like a smooth sip of whiskey ,,

  • Thank you, Mary. I will always love you. You will be in my heart forever.

  • GOD gave you a beautiful voice and you used HIS gift perfectly, thanks and GOD Bless you

  • I left for Nam to this song, I could not wake the love of my life, to kiss her goodbye; I did know it I would ever come back. I touched her cheek, she smiled. In one of those things that make you wonder about life, this song played on my way back home, She waited for me, but I had changed; my love for her is eternal...but what if I awoke one night and hurt her because of something i could not yet control...I would never be able to forgive myself. I hope she has had a wonderful life.

  • @rasputin1952

So much more to this story but it's is your story. I hope you have found piece for I have not.

( from one brother to another )

  • @1905compton Thank you. We all travel down paths, some good, some poor. In the end though, I think that it all comes together, we are walking history, each with a stories of times long gone; loves lost, ill fated choices...but there is always the hope that just around the next bend, it will all make sense. There are the good times to be recalled as well, the laughter, the ties that can never be broken. It is good to watch the sunrise and set...and think of time gone by, and await the next joy.

  • @rasputin1952 Very Well Said

  • Love you Mary. Rest in Peace

  • I have never seen this.

My comments are unavoidably tinged with the passing of Mary Travers.

This is all that Peter, Paul and Mary were.

    Us.

  • the woman defines what it means to be a singer. The emotion, the pipes...and one just KNOWS she's been there. Thank u dear M.

    Love.

  • love her

  • You can see her power in the faces in the audience, they do not hear her, they have been drawn into her world, her soul...that is power.

I am so fortunate to have lived through the times she lived through, I miss you Mary.

  • The Kingston Trio and Friends Reunion Concert was done in Magic Mountain, saturday evening, November 7, 1981, but it was finally aired over the PBS-TV Network from february 21 to March 6; 1982.

  • Mary at 45. What A Beautiful Lady!

    Mary

    God Bless!

  • I loved Mary so much. This performance of Jet Plane really sums up Mary's magic...straight ahead, unfussy singing, yet infused with drama and passion.

  • WoW!

  • I lost my Mom in June, now I lost my heart. She is the music of my life. RIP

  • you exactly expressed how i feel about my mother, but I never quite expressed it as well as you just did

  • her phrasing is all new but still so warm.

    thanks!

  • Best of the best.

    Sleep in peace.
