@2braappin We use them for airshows and display of our air superiority but they are not currently in service due to the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program which was won by lockheed martin who developed the F-35 Lightning II.
@funnyhour I don't even really think the JSF is a good replacement for the F-16/18. Yes, it has some cool features, especially it's sensor suite, but I think we should have shot for superior maneauvring capability over the previous generation of fighters.
@Nater245689 If you would have told me this 20-30 years ago, I would be more apt to agree with you. The truth is, however, is that today's air battles are mainly fought beyond the visual range. The superior maneuvering capability of something like the Su-33 is good for airshows but not much else. Also, the F-16 loses almost all maneuvering capability when outfitted with a combat load.

Nah they are back in the sky now. I think they started returning in limited numbers like a week or two ago. They solved the issue but don't want to just rush them back up in the sky for precautionary purposes.

I watch this video and then i watch videos of the Eurofighter. Both amazing planes, interesting to see which would be best in a practice dogfight. I have to give credit where it's due, the Eurofighter is so much better to watch. Plus the Eurofighter has a higher thrust to full weight ratio than the Raptor. I think there needs to be a show where we can get them fly side by side and simulate a dogfight. Would have to be here in England tho, we are aloud to fly under 100ft HAHA!

su-37 can out manuver it it has 360 degree thrust vectoring the f22 only has vertical thrust vectoring but the su-37 would never beat the f22 in a fight the f22 would shoot down the su-37 over 100 miles away before it could reach it unless it just got lucky.
