You have some nice hardware and build a good system, so hats off. But custom builds are hell in terms of maintenance and support for businesses. I used to do custom builds when I worked in biomedical informatics, but eventually went the way of buying mainstream. For businesses/organizations the benefits of mainstream support often outweighed the not getting something perfectly customized.
Dear Trubyd44. I am about to purchase Shark Aerocool fans for my Corsair 800D. Do u recommend these fans? I have a fan controller for 6 fans so I assume they will be quiet. Looking for your input. Thanks. its just so hard to buy good fans and Fluid dynamic bearing is better than sleeve or ball bearing. So what do u think buy these fans for 800D Corsair? Thanks.
Isn't it kind of an odd choice to mix gamer cards with teslas? I would definitely use the cheaper consumer level cards to build something like a folder or BOINC cruncher, but if I was building a serious workstation for modeling or other similar application where precision is critical I would go with straight teslas and quadros. In any case, it looks like an awesome build. Hope you had a lot of fun putting it together.
@yoshidis4 No. The Tesla card is for calculations, not graphics. I think the most graphical things that Tesla is used for is 3d rendering, game creation and a few other things. But its not good to actually play games on it.
Cuda cores are used in mastering audio interfaces as well cause when converting sample rates with CPU's it degrades the audio quality. Cuda cores are better at converting audio from 96k to 44k sample rates.
@wrathallll Well most publishing companies go with 44k. That is the reason for converting. Really if you look at the 96k file size and CD you can't fit as many songs on a CD with it running at 96k. Plus the CD Player has to support 96k. 96k is used for DVDs because there is more room on a DVD to store the audio.
@wrathallll Some use 48k for video. But really it is the D/A converters that make all the difference. A great quality system can do 44.1 that sounds better than 96k. Quality always matters in anything.
no its going to take hours while some poor fellow is gonna pay thousands to u for , i really feel for u ur life must be hard, take a break if u get to tired of doing some easy work for few hours...
Happy 1/2-Year Anniversary! I just hope Client #5 feels the same w/o his build. haha..
When X79 comes out in Nov, the cost of building a computer just as powerful -- higher memory & bus bandwidth, better CPU efficiencies and more. -- is at least 40% less than what's he's spending here.
If your radiologist client is really that hardcore, he'll be missing all the new features in next gen CPUs. Again, if he is really that hardcore, he'd want to (and will be able to) take advantage of em.
Has this super personal computer actually been built and it is operating now? The talk seems a tad fanfarre, melodramatic especially when the tech asures it is the best power pump and the PSU the best in the world, those two are debatable NZxt & PC power and Cooling PS units are superb as well. I happen to have the NZXT case & PSU it is a monster case with large fans, I do not know what I will do with it, maybe a NAS or SAN,..
Sesonic PSU as being the best can be debatable. The modular part is cool, but what about noise and durabilitay. PC power and Cooling a US company makes super PSUnits as well, this one in use has laster 10 yrs. Where is Sesonic made, China or US. PC P & C now manuractures in China with techonoly developed in CA.
@HelmetVanga It's Seasonic and they are an OEM. They make power supplies that people relabel and sell under their name. Every test I have ever seen on them has been unmatched so I think him saying that they are the best is hard to disprove.
@CyphenPhsyX Sheeeshus! Dat's alot of dosh, would it be better to do a build like this or spend the equivalent on a manufactured model, eg BoXX?? Thanks
Yeh but then again its about what you want now or if you wanna wait. If you have the money why not? But honestly I would of left out the SR2, tesla and the GTX and go for i7 2600k or i5 2500k with gtx580's or 570s .... Ow well guess that dude has alot of money ehehe :P
