Apparently they misinterpreted some of what the Bible says. For example, in Exodus, they translated it to Red Sea, when instead it was Reed Sea. During the time of Moses, there was a volcanoe erupting. If you read Exodus, you can see that the Israelites were following the Volcanoe, because in the day it would be smokey, and in the night it was bright as it erupted. Having been raised in a christian household I understand your anger. Religion and especially "his" people have hurt me more than helped. But humans always find a way to manipulate even the most innocent things to their own ends. No, I'm saying that human beings wrote the bible, something you can't argue with. You believe that this is the word of God because God "told them" to write it down. Think of God as this: He is a lonely being, surrounded by nothingness. At first, he would make things that love him automatically: Dinosaurs? Then he got fed up of it, and decided to hold a contest. No holds barred, who would win in a dark world. Who would fight the dark things that He created to test us? Who would win and not join the darkness. Maybe he's just using us as entertainment, being totally alone, and there not being any other gods to do anything with. Its a lonely existence.

Apparently they misinterpreted some of what the Bible says. For example, in Exodus, they translated it to Red Sea, when instead it was Reed Sea. During the time of Moses, there was a volcanoe erupting. If you read Exodus, you can see that the Israelites were following the Volcanoe, because in the day it would be smokey, and in the night it was bright as it erupted. I saw this on the Discovery Channel. Howver, the volcano lasted for 40 years: another misinterpretation?

Its to show what he's talking about! The visual effect of seeing prisoners, klansmen, drug dealers, and strippers, shows that no matter what you are or do or have done, jesus walks for you. The ending could have been better though, like a combination of all being invited to walk with jesus or something like that.

I do not need 'God' to do good things. I just do them.
But this does not mean that I hate god or anything similar. Gods, whether existant or not, bring peace to a lot of people (and sometimes war to others). Perhaps I might even envy them for always having someone to turn to.
I do believe that there is 'something'. But whether it is God or not, I like to do 'good things' and help others.

Perhaps even my sense of 'good' is crooked. I've got a simple rule of thumb; Don't do to others what you wouldn't want them do to you.
If God does exist, though, I sincerely apologize for not believing in you, and I hope for you to strike me with lightning. (Which you won't do, as you are the ultimate good, and hurting people would very probably be against this goodness.)

I see, but first of there have been numerous accounts of God ending people's lives but not because He can't do evil but because of His divine judgment...there's a difference between doing evil and executing judgment but i digress. I see where you might have this idea of God as human idea since throughout history there have been numerous Gods, yet in this case we cannot put him in as a human idea for in all of history, there is no actual 'idea' of Him. Only what He has chosen to reveal to us.

Still, though, God is obviously made up. Back when the Bible was being written, people were writing of God as a king, who was iron-fisted, demanding, and obsessed with law. Nowadays, we write of God as a loving father with open arms. If God hasn't changed, then the obvious answer is that human perception of him has changed, which means that God equals human perception of him and nothing more.

Which means the bible itself can be full of mistakes as well.
If the bible says it is a sin, it isn't necessarily always a sin; Humans wrote it.
Besides that; Supposing 'God' created humanity, don't you think he'd have given every part of us humans a goal? Don't you think our 'sense' of right and wrong would have been given to us by God, assuming that God exists?

as of now, no. do you know how old the universe is? there was this one priest in a plenary who said that if the lifetime of the universe is compared to one year, the first humans only arrived during dec 31, 11p.m. i emphasized him being a priest because even though he believes in God, he is open-minded. so if we arrived that late in this universe, do you think that our creator, assuming there is, really cares about us that much?

Having been raised in a christian household I understand your anger. Religion and especially "his" people have hurt me more than helped. But humans always find a way to manipulate even the most innocent things to their own ends. Don't let their dogma and half understood interpretations keep you so angry that you don't find and seek God if you want it in your life. Anger is destructive to your soul. The God during biblical times is the same God of today, He has never changed as you have stated...we just seem to dull him down for some reason. Therefore you really haven't proven anything in your argument except our human finite minds are flawed and that in fact God does not equal human perception, but more or less God equals what He chooses to show us.

No, I'm saying that human beings wrote the bible, something you can't argue with. You believe that this is the word of God because God "told them" to write it down. Because you, a human, can't understand God, you have to then take EVERYTHING God has told a human to do to be the real voice of God. 1 last final thing, 1 day we will all find out whether or not there is a god or not, after we die...and i personally would rather be on the safe side, then living for myself, another thing, EVEN if there is "NO GOD", living through this made up thing, makes life alot better, simply for the fact you strive to be a good person, and to help others in need...so why not believe in something that represents pure goodness...

It's really hard to grasp how much He actually loves us, I can't really put words to it.
