love Godin guitars - great instruments at a great price. the new revoicer sounds like a good addition. i already have 2 single cuts (not this one), so i don't see much diff beyond the revoicer...
To all of you concerned about whether the top is solid or veneer, veneer IS solid wood. It's just very thin. It's not like the guitar is made from good one side plywood. Using a thin figured maple veneer on top gives you the look without the expense of a half inch slab of figured maple. It's not like what Fender did with their 'photo-flame' tops that were actually just a printed photo of nice wood laminated to the top of the guitar that only looked good from 20 feet away.
awesome playing.iv got this guitar but in trans black i picked it over a epiphone les paul and a gibson lp studio its really good great sound and versitile and great to play. looks as good as it plays. i reccomend it
@thewiredrock Solid FLAMED maple top? Or a Solid maple top with a veneer? Because they are two different things. You can have a solid maple top, but it's not going to be flamed unless it's specifically a 'flamed maple top'. The whole thing. A lot of companies throw on a maple top and then glue onto that a wood veneer.
@shipleyshipster I believe there is no veneer as on the Godin site it lists it as a "solid maple top" while on their lower end models it says "veneer of highly figured maple". I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's all solid.
He has to make everything up as to avoid copyright, so its just somthing he composed which is a shame because i bet that would sound amazing if put in to a propper song
@dobby240 not sure if its a copyright issue more than preference. Andy at Pro Guitar covers songs in every video. I think Paul just likes to improv, and play some of his own stuff as well. Which is respectable I think.
This guitar looks and sounds like somethin Devin Townsend should use, It's awesome and I love the riffs paul plays. He'd be put to good use in a rock band
I really like Godin Guitars and one day like to have one ? It will probably be the godin LGXT in the black color.

@jordorockzman I would like to get this and use it for blues/rock/jazz - is the guitar a good choice for these styles? How is the neck?
ElTone43 7 months ago
would it be good for blues, jazz, hard rock, and metal?
cuz my damien 6fr just doesnt cut it on a clean channel with its pups
psyckla5 1 year ago
@psyckla5 anything it seems like. because mark morton uses a 59 in the bridge so it sounds good for metal

like for a solo

Veneer questions - go watch the vids on the Godin site. It's one big piece of wood or a book match depending on the model.
Big ORn

Is that a maple cap with a flamed veneer or a full flamed maple top?

@shipleyshipster Solid maple top, no veneer.

he would do everyone a favor by posting effects/amp, people can't just go off his review get the guitar home and expect to get his sound

@dobby240 yeah, i reckon so too... the thing is, quite a lot of channels do play proper songs. Check out Pro Guitar Shop, they only do proper songs.

though i do like to hear somthing different other than songs iv heard before.

same here. i wouldn't doubt that it may have something to do with it. who knows these days. Paul and Andy are both great guitarists.

I think he mentioned in the Marshall RR Head review that he can't play any randy licks because of copyright issues

@fridgeslayer94 no surprise here. imo nobody should be able to play his licks. if they even can.
