right now its probably foster the people because i saw them at glastonbury and they were so awesome that as soon as i got home i bought the album (torches)
Have you heard of Mister Heavenly Sami? It's a collaboration between Honus Honus, Nick Diamonds, and Joe Plummer (Man Man, The Unicorns/Islands, and Modest Mouse/The Shins respectively). They're calling their music doom-wop for their love of doo-wop and doomed love songs. Album is out in August and I feel it will be my album of the year lol. Helplessness Blues was good, this will be epic.
Theres a band from my home town, they are pretty damn great, ive seen them live 3 times now and theyve had the pleasure of touring with Jason Mraz. There more chilled out reggae but there still pretty great....They are Luc and the Lovingtons
@PUNKROCKORBUST98 it's exactly like Dave's. Joe Perry has one too. It's a Dan Armstrong Ampeg from the 70's. Got it as a gift from my uncle when I was younger.
bomb the music industry!, dilliger escape plan, the flatliners, nofx, saul williams, baroness, zoroaster, black diamond heavies, radio moscow, don caballero, omar rodriguez-lopez, and john butler isnt exactly inde but hes not well known in america
Arctic Monkeys, The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, We are Scientists, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Phoenix, Bloc Party, Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, The Strokes, Mando Diao, The Shins, Anna Calvi, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lykke Li, Bon Iver, Warpaint, Dead Sons, Mabel Love.
RQOTD: Hurts, Elbow, Arctic monkeys, the verve, warpaint. Atm, just to name a few.
Also, think it would be a decent idea if you reviewed gigs you've been to out of 10, with low points and high points of the gig. Or gigs you've seen on tV, like the ongoing glastonbury festival.
Watched coldplay last night and thought they were incredible if im honest
the heavy is my favorite indie band. theyre a very cool hybrid of garage rock, jazz, soul and a lot of other stuff. theyre the first and to my knowledge, only band that has ever received a live encore on david letterman. ive met their singer and he's such a cool guy. check out their song, how you like me now. its been in lots of movie trailers and commercials. i know ive mentioned them in the comments on past videos, but id love to see them promoted on the riob.
Arcade Fire... if you can find a better indie rock band than them in the history of music I will post a naked video of myself as a response to this... :D
Dude, is that seriously why you got fired from work??? SUCH a freakin' backwards society. We can watch each other blow each other up, but not see body parts....Victorian Much?
my favorite indie band would be YUCA a Canadian rock band pretty new, not the normal stuff I listen to, It's very..... happy music if you know what I mean. there coming out with a new album here soon I cant wait! I thank they are really good, and different in my opinion. check them out at ww.YUCA.ca there is a music player at the bottom of the page. its about something, tomorrow, glorious day, and gold in your soul. there all very good songs but those 4 are my favorite.
Fleet Foxes are my new favorite band i discovored when you had a video back then about the link to the video of there song "Grown Ocean", and i love them and wish i could see them in LA, the closest to me :/, may i reccomend for you noobies to Fleet Foxes, Grown Ocean, White Winter Hymnal and Mykonos, Your welcome ^.^
I like Freelance Whales. I like their sound. They use acoustic instruments like guitar and banjo. It layers well and sounds great. They have Tiny Desk Concerts on YouTube that I recommend you look up.
good episode, too bad Fleet Foxes aren't coming to New Orleans, then again most indie bands play at bars, so I can't see them. Hope to see them when I'm a bit older though, it'de be very chill but probably beautiful. The new Wilco single's great; can't wait for some new Shin's songs.
What is with people just naming random indie bands...most of them aren't even indie (MGMT, the Strokes, Arcade Fire) millions of people know those bands; they are very good but not indie. They started out indie, but don't all bands start out indie. Then again I consider those bands somewhat indie considering they're not extreme and not played on the radio; except MGMT.
My favorite indie-rock band (and favorite band, for that matter) is Arcade Fire. They manage to make a big sound that can grab your heart. Plus, their albums are all classics.
