Are you friggin' kidding me!?! I was friggin' there! No way! This just blows me away! It was at Grand Central Station now called Graham Central Station. I was in 11th grade! Ha! Ha! This is too cool! I was almost near the front and a little to right of center. I think they came with Exciter, that N.Y. band that had a drummer that was the lead singer...not sure if that was who came with them though.
First two albums are the greatest ever. These guys were my first concert I ever attended, when I was thirteen years old, I have been to hundreds after that, none better. Way ahead of their time. never got the credit they deserved. They should have been bigger than 95% ofmost bands from the 80's. Stephen, the best singer from Arizona that ever existed. Thank you Icon for all those beautiful memories that you still give us and for inspiring us to become musicians ourselves. Forever Greatful!
never saw live footage of them b4. I saw them open for Enuff Z Nuff on their 3rd album but they didn't play songs from the first 2 albums so I was really disappointed by it
Capitol records signed them and then did nothing for them. I guess they were just used as a tax write off or whatever...

the once mighty guns & roses opened for icon on a small west coast swing.Axl made it through 2 1/2 songs while in phoenix,az. before smacking himself in the mouth causing his lips to swell and they had to end their show. Axls hair must have had a case of hairspay on it. "the higher the hair the closer to god" Icon IS the most under rated band of the 80's
@xXCrAzYvIdSXx Jerry Harrison was the vocalist on the 1989 release "Right Between the Eyes" ~ Not a guitar player. You don't have to lie to kick it brother.
Stephen was never able to be replaced. Watchin John and Dan side by side is like watching Tipton/Downing. So sad they went the way they did. This line-up could have become epic had it continued.
I totally agree and been saying that for years. Steven Clifford smoke a lot of singers. Bret Michaels just grunts. At times out of key. Someone had to play to the 12 year girls.
I bought this in 86 in Texas after it had been out a couple of years and it blew me away. Every song. Every one on the album is awesome. It is a huge crime(Along with Black 'n Blue) they didn't get the backing necessary from MTV/Columbia, whatever. I've never met anyone who didn't like these guys. And I still listen to them.
i remember back in the day(79-83) i used to walk by the parking lot of Grand Central Station (Alb. NM) to the arcade and seen the massive pile of trash left behind from the previous Rock/Metal night.
bad ass song ,,,had the album when it came out,,great production or it was just the deep heavy sound of vinyl,,nevertheless ,,one of the very few good original "hair bands",maybe thats why they didnt get that big ,they got lumped in with the shitty hair bands.
Wow, they sound heavier than I thought they'd be and I avoided for years even when they were around...gotta love discovering "new" metal that you passed by for years. Next time I see 'em for 2.50 on disc i'll snag it.

Totally agree, the magic left with Stephen's exit. The third album was just crap by comparison to the first 2.
Night Of The Crime remains an absolute classic.

One of the best rock bands from the 80's that should have been huge. It's a shame that a shitty band like poison survived and these guys didn't

@cuznred Now,Poison wasn't really that bad...But they weren't even close to being as awesome as Icon,WASP,Dokken,TNT,Skid Row or Europe.
