Hey brother Chris! Just to let you know it is the OT that made me believe that Jesus is the Messiah! There are many many verses that talk about Jesus in the OT!
The OT provides Jesus' credentials. The OT shows what prophecies were to be fulfilled so we could recognize the Messiah.
Respectfully, you are wrong. Jesus is all over the OT. He is God, and walked with Adam in the Garden. Without the OT Jesus being the perfect Paschal Lamb looses it's full meaning.
Without the OT, we can't grasp the wonder of Grace vs Law. You get the idea I hope.
There are plenty of synagogues where a Christian can attend and hear Moses preached. I attended a Reform synagogue about a dozen times when I was a Christian. It was a mind-blowing experience.
James is also saying that if a gentile disciple of Yeshua wants to learn and do more than the minimum, then he can go to the synagogue on Shabbat.
Acts 15 is a key passage. It also demonstrates that Jewish disciples of Yeshua were still expected to observe the Torah, at least on James' "turf".
If we want to learn more about God, the Creation of this world, the history of God and mankind, the covenant God made with Noah, gave a law and the sign of the rainbow....then God made a covenant with Abraham ....later with Moses and Israel....then came the new covenant with the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ)...
If we see the whole history together and learn about God and history in His Word, the Holy Bible and pray and ask for understanding God will help us ....
Dark - many interpret it as such - but then - why does He change the Law so dramatically in the sermon on the mount? Why the change in divorce law? Why all the testimony of Paul helping to explain what changed in the New Covenant - for that matter - WHY a New Covenant?
Because the bible and old testament were written by men, for men, to control men. Like anything written by several opinionated individuals with a clear lack of the most basic knowledge we have today, there will be many, many incorrections.
When I started reading the NT I found many sentences referring to parts in the Scripture of the OT. AS often as I read this I started searching and reading the context for a better understanding. It´s amazing how good it is to understand that both belong together, depend on each other. All the holidays God has given like Passah have a special reason.
It´s so clear to see that old prophecies have been fulfilled. The Messiah has come and is the Lamb of God that died for our sins. Thank you !
Moses tabernacle in the wilderness is a tangible prophecy of man, Jesus the Anointed One, and Jesus the head of the multi-membered body of Christ of whom you are. ALL of it is revealed by the Holy Spirit. No one on the panet is exempt from the Truth revaled in Him since the day of pentacost ... that includes the Tabernacle. The tabernacle is the great measuring instrument of ALL doctrine. I am glad that you have been blessed to see why we all need that His pattern now more than ever.
If you don't know the old testament, then you miss everything...
This is a simple way to put it:
Old testament is the NEW TESTAMENT UNREVEALED and the new testament is the OLD TESTAMENT REVEALED.
There is NO separately a God of the old testament and a God of the new testament. If you say God was different in the past then THAT'S HERESY! GOD IS UNCHANGING! WE NEED TO SEE THE TWO TESTAMENTS AS A WHOLE!
Please don't label the Hebrew scriptures as "old" . It's a slap in the face to the Creator as well as the jewish people. Hashem is not subject to time, space or gravity, therefore His Word is Eternal and cannot become "old" . Thats also an anti-semitic tag that was put on the hebrew scriptures by the early jew hating popes and bishops and other assorted greco pagans who's desire was to dejudaize the Torah. All of us jews know this..
I'm sure he was not trying to be antisemitic or whatever here. He's a human being and from his standpoint the Old Testament is old. Surely it's not old for god because god is omnipotent.
Los - I didn't label it - its what the Bible has labeled them as - and I don't think anyone is as insulted as a person who this point up as a point of division. Anyways - its not anti-Semitic - and this video really wasn't for the Jews - I mean - what would a Jew label the New Testament? Should I be offended if they call it false? And don't they call it false when they deny Christ?
Having the six-pointed star.. you can find the 666 right there. It's traditionally called the star of david, although it have nothing to do with david..
Witches call it the "seal of solomon" ' which would make more sense, since solomon was dealing with many wicked women and built altars and worshipped their gods.
Whiches use the "hexagram" when they curse people.
The Old Covenant is vital. We would have too many questions without it. Paul uses the Old Covenant scriptures many times over to support his case. The Old Covenant scriptures contain prophecy that is coming to pass before our eyes.
Many people think the Old Covenant scriptures are dead and just there for reference but they are still very much alive just as the New Covenant is. Ezekiel 36-37 have passed and we are witnessing chapters 38-39 come to pass in our generation.
I have a question for you. Since the NT greek writings say there is no longer need for a sacrifice then why does Ezekial Ch 40 onward speak of sacrifices being reinstituted in the Third millenial temple when Moshiach reigns? I have never heard any Christian expositor cover this. I'm just a curious jew.
Friend, I truly think you've got my post mixed up with someone els's question. I have no idea what your responding about. I only took offense to the christian church's labeling of the Holy Hebrew scriptures as "old" I know of no event that you're talking about.
Kins - I believe the Old Covenant is as relevant as a rotary dial phone is in today's touch tone world... yeah - it still functions but it is obsolete - as described in Hebrews -
I don't believe ALL the OT is obsolete, if it was there wouldn't be any knowledge off sin, as sin is; 'transgression of the law'. Without the OT we wouldn't know about all the prophecy's and some are still yet to be fulfilled such as the 2nd coming. That's my tkae on why I think the OT is still relevent.
I hear ya brother. If your referring to salvation then the Old Covenant won't get ya there. That much is a given for anyone already in the faith. I was just making a comment based on the title of the vid more than anything because we do still use all of the scriptures for sure, as I already know you would agree.
Keep on keepin on brother. Blessings in Christ to you and yours.
39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which TESTIFY OF ME.
How can you say "you can't find Jesus by reading the old testament"?. It's amazing how the Holy Spirit even skip events in history just to get to the coming of the Messiah....Christology is found everywhere in the old testament.
prelude - in the context of what I am saying - if you hand someone who has never heard of Jesus an OT only - they will not come away with Jesus Christ based on that reading... likewise - if you hand another the NT only - they would come away with Jesus and many references to the OT... thats what I meant
Maybe you were not clear in the video since (after reading some comments) i'm not the only person who misunderstood your words. I understand what you're saying now , but i still believe you can find Him in the law and the prophets.
ONE - my point was that if I had an OT alone - I wouldn't have any knowledge of Jesus from it. In hindsight - with the Holy Spirit - we see Him... but I never had a Biblical answer as to why we had it until God revealed that to me. :) No big deal for you - or most - but a huge deal for me! GBU!
Oh man. One of the things I've found out so far in school is that Jesus is all over the OT. The whole of the Law and the prophets point to Christ. In fact all of creation does. All scripture is good, and all of it points to Christ. Christ is the spirit of prophesy my man.
spastic - I agree - but you and I are looking at it through an advanced point of view... give an OT to one whose never heard of Jesus - and an NT to one whose never heard of Jesus - and the OT guy wont come to a knowledge of Jesus (at least without divine intervention os the HS)...
See, I don't think anyone comes to saving faith without divine intervention. Even with the NT alone. Sure they are types and shadows in the OT, but without the Spirit, things of the Spirit are foolishness and even undetectable by anyone without the Spirit.
The reason why people misunderstand so much of the New Testament is due to the fact that they either don't read the Old Testament or they read it as if it was written to us, when it obviously was not.
People are lazy by nature, so they don't read stuff for themselves, just trusting that their preachers are telling them the truth.
Just like all the corruption and misinformation in the world in general... all a result of listening to the "experts" instead of researching it for oneself.
The OT is more relevant for today than most people realize. The Prophets foretold of a time before the end that would be the "darkest" time in history, in so much as it would be called, "Gross Darkness the People". (false Christianity everywhere) Here we have the very words of Jesus printed in a book, right in our possession, and there STILL remains absolute DARKNESS and NO understanding of truth,.....APOSTASY RULES the DAY! What an evil time we live....surly, very few will make it through.
Okay, I've only watched 30 seconds, and I'm rating this 5 stars before you say something stupid, because you deserve 5 stars just for seriously and honestly raising the question, no matter what your conclusion is.

Most of those people are the synagogue of satan talked about in Rev 2 and Rev 3
They say that they are Jews, but do lie!
They came from Khazaria, and have nothing to do with israel or being a decendant of Judah..
You can know that only by looking what 80 % of them call themselves: Ashkenazi Jew
If you read Genesis 10 it tells you that Askenaz is one of the sons of Gomer the son of Japhet, NOT SHEM..
So it's really ANTI JAPHETISM! Not antisemitism.
Just look at their cursed flag.
