  • did you lose any image of the top and bottom when blowing it up to HD

  • Wow, this was 1980? Being born in 1992, I didn't get to experience this era, so its cool to see what a family outing was really like at the time (non-Hollywood). :D

  • Beats any Beta or VHS camcorder crap from the 90's and on.

  • What awesomeness! I can imagine the quality of 16mm. It possibly can be converted to 2K I think.

  • nossa ta muito boa

  • colors looks so full on film.. we need film back!!

  • It's not "converted" to HD, 8mm film is in high definition to begin with

  • @Bregowald if it was Full-HD it would have been converted ...but Super 8 is (nearly) HD-Ready by default and YES in this case it is not converted to HD

    (super 8= HD-Ready, 16mm FullHD,2K, 35mm 2K,4K 70mm = 6K, 8K)

  • Pro8mm in Burbank does it all (pro8mmdotcom)

  • This is OK, but try sending the footage to a transfer house that uses Cintel (Rank) flying spot telecines. You'll be amazed how good it can look.

  • @tb3193 I've just bought a Super8 camera and am wondering who is the best person to send the footage to o get the best results... any suggestions! I was told there's only one place that will develop the film, and its a company in Germany, but for coverting it then onto digital, and suggestions very welcome!

  • @Marillionboy I don't know about developing, but for transferring the film there's a good article at posthouse (youtube won't let me post the link).

In the US another good transfer house is Debenham

If you're in Europe do a google search for Super 8 and rank ciintel. The Cintel is a continuous motion device and therefore kind to the film, as well as capable of very high quality. The posthouse article talks about special issues with super 8.

    I hope this helps.

  • @tb3193 You can post links if you put "(dot)" in place of the dots in the URL. I've often done this many times. Sometimes you can simply remove the dots and write the URL with a space where the dots would be too.

  • ITS NICE WELL CLEANED UP FOOTAGE FOR SURE,BUT ITS NOT HD SUPER 8 JUST CANT MAKE HD RESOLUTION.NICE THOUGH.

  • WOOOOOOOOO! REAL NICE FOOTAGE!

  • Thanks Parravision, that means a lot!

  • Wow... That looks really good. Do you transfer footage for people? What type of film

  • Thanks for commenting. The film is super 8mm & was shot in 1980. The transfer was done by MovieStuff in Texas. They have a commercial service of converting super 8 & 16mm in HD. The results are stunning considering the size of the frames & the age of the film.

  • @Castlemainer This looks incredible! wow. How did you get sound?
