WOW, Bjork is breathtakingly beautiful here. The most beautiful I have ever seen her. And very deserving of the award, plus a hell of a lot more that she didn't win.
Oh Bjork. Love her! I'm not surprised by her speech considering she didn't enjoy making the movie at all. She's too much of a happy person to enjoy playing a depressing role...though she was BEYOND fantastic in the film.
Sh didn't like making this film? I think she wouldn't be so fantastic, if she didn't like it. She gives me the impression that she wouldn't do a job, just for the money, or for an award. I think she wouldn't accept this role, if she didn't like it, thst's what I am trying to say. I am not a fan of her (having all her CD etc), but this is what I believe of her
and as you say she doesn't work for money'cause she already has it
But, the anecdote is that when she saw this film she thought it was terribly sad and was horrified by the cruelty of this story. She actually made the promiseof never acting again, promise she kept for many years until she appeared in an movieof his husband/boyfriend (don't remember)
she had said that the film was too painful, and she had a really really hard time working on it ,she had alot of disagreements with the director, and she walked off the set more than one time.
this video is named wrong. Bjork was nominated (only for song, ridiculously not for actress) at the Oscars but she didn't win, and we all know she was wearing a different dress. and Cannes.. she won acting, they don't award for best song. so this is some other French "Oscars" awards ceremony.
praxmex, it's true that she doesn't look THAT happy, but I believe she stated that she wanted to forget about "dancer in the dark" as soon as possible, because it had destroyed all her confidence in herself, so I think it's quite normal. Oh, and about the reverence: normally, if an artist is being applauded, it's the custom to make a reverence in front of the public, or bow your head, it shows that you're grateful about the applause. n_n
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Indeed she deserve the award but she looks sooooo false doing that reverences like if she were in front of the queen or something, her smile is frozen, also. YUCK
I think it's much better to just say thank you like she did instead of talking bullshit like everybody else does, pretending to be something/someone they are not. Sorry for my bad english, I'm from italy...
Yes yes, we know that you must have meant Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival awards ceremony, NOT Oscars... and I adore her! She is so lovely!!!
Bjork's acceptance speeches are always short haha it would of been the same even if she won an Oscar Which BTW, tell me she didn't deserve an Oscar for Best Actress in 2000, the academy is a farce they probably thought the film was too Anti-American or they didn't want a non-actress winning but she definitely deserve a nod. she did get nominated for best song which I'm sure she was more proud of but still, the Oscars is all politics now she should of been up for best actress
that's why a care, she's human, being awarded usually make people happy, you know? And if after such an effort, you are recognized and you feel good, it's a normal thing to share it with someone who joined you through the process.
did anyone else notice the mummy returns music in the background as she walked up?
