  • So what?.. Every Google+ notification in my GMail is accompanied with ad about diamond grinding wheels, cutting discs, abrasive discs and other such power tools... You know, because in Russian all of them are called "circles" :D

  • 1:14 "Carolyn Johnson?" Someone's a Portal 2 fan!

  • Everyone loves THE GMAIL-MAN!

  • But Googles solution is FREE! I tried out GMX, well, 15 Spam-mails in one day!

I dont care about the little ads on the top.

  • This is pathetic. If they continue this path, Microsoft will stop being relevant within a decade.

  • Microsoft, you're funny, but it ends there

  • again.....

    parsing is diferent from reading

  • First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

Microsoft is between the laughing phase and the fighting phase now.

  • I like my Gmail you M-loosers

  • seriusly microsft?:/

  • It's not a bug, it's a feature.

  • Great video, lots of fun, sure Google looks at my email and serves up relevant ads. I'll still use gmail over Office-365 for business and personal use.

  • wow Microsoft... cant compete with googles better email service? SMEAR!

personalized Ad's are the way of the future. also its free to use.

Office 365: from personal experience. unresponsive, buggy, has a few nasty Security holes for Malware and is just a badly written prog.. oh wait its Microsoft... thats what you PAY for when you buy their stuff.

  • office 365 is a piece of shit

  • OFFICE 365 for the win!

  • At least Google doesn't hide the fact that they mine data from their users... Says a lot more about the others then Google. Don't like it? Use someone elses product and settle for less.

  • Wozu Produkte bei Microsoft kaufen? Bei Google gibt's die kostenlos.

  • I've watched so many ron paul videos that when emailing back and forth for my ECE 710 (Electrical and Computer Engineering 710: Microwave Circuits) about network analyzers and dielectric resonators, that the ads gmail show are "Inflation Is Coming" and "Washington Robbing Us All"

    LOL.

Looks like Gmail man and Youtube man love each other enough to make ads born too.

That is kind of creepy. MSFT may have a point here.

  • its shit like this, microsoft

  • very good microsoft.

  • Very good Microsoft. Now I love GMAIL more then before. Your products (except Excel and Powerpoint) are terrible. Think old and expensive, think Microoft. Think colaborative and future, think Google!

  • who cares!.....but still it is 1 hilarious video

  • Yeah Microsoft, because what Google does is a lot worse than assigning Bing links to the keywords in our WINDOWS LIVE CONVERSATIONS.

    Hypocrites.

  • @FalancaEchidna

You completely missed the point. Microsoft doesn't read your personal conversation and sell that information to advertisers. They both have ads in their products but one company monetizes your personal information.

  • @andStack

Google does NOT sell your personal information! Thats the difference to facebook for example. Their core business is advertising, so why should they sell the things they are making the most money off?

  • @FalancaEchidna It's quite different actually. Presumably (by the WL Messenger privacy policy and all), Bing Links are inserted on a find-replace basis. There might be a callback to the server to check for keywords, but it wouldn't be tied/personally identifiable. In Gmail however, it actually records and builds up a profile of you, tied to your Google Account, based on the emails you've been looking at.

tl;dr: 1 is personally identifable (Google's), the other is not

  • @zihank The only difference is the execution of the same idea; eye-poking you the links to the things that have the most chance of you clicking on them. Yes, Google saves keywords and associates them with my account, but ads are always shown outside my working/reading space, and stays largely irrelevant to what I'm doing. Microsoft underlines half of my conversations, assigns ugly popups to them, desperately hoping that I'd contribute to their alternative profit. It's the same, if not worse.

  • Sem graça e os atores são péssimos

  • Nice video, but Hotmail sucks.

    Gmail is a lot better.

  • @jordanvideosnintendo

How exactly? I made a gmail to see what all the fuss was about and concluded it was just another email service. It also didn't have a couple features I really like so I passed on switching.

  • That video doesnt make any sense.

  • Google gives you everything.

    FREE.

who cares about ads on the side.

  • @Marksdroid That's not actually true. 365 competes directly with google apps for business, which DOES have a fee. But what it DOESN'T have is ads. Another great google product - surprise surprise.

  • @Marksdroid explain, everything?

  • @Marksdroid If your privacy doesn't matter at all, then I guess you're right. Otherwise ad-centered companies can be troublesome. But there's a very long and tedious explanation for that.

  • @Marksdroid thats the whole point of ad, Google makes money of your e-mail, most people don't know it.

  • @Marksdroid If you're not paying for it, you're the product being sold.

  • @Marksdroid Yes, cause you are not the consumer, but the product.

  • @Marksdroid Don't u care about privacy , u douche ?

  • Dear Microsoft, this is too LOW, even for you

  • Got to give it to Microsoft - they're not as creepy as Google, but their solutions almost seem to be intended for random creeps with all the security holes and such. It's a tough choice: corporate creeps, random creeps?

  • The game that Microsoft plays is just NOT fair at all -.-

  • I'm an apple fanboy but I love office 365.

  • While I agree with the sentiment concerning gmail, and I personally believe Google is plenty "evil", Microsoft 365 is a steaming pile-o-crap.

  • Voir le domaine de la fausse pub : " pharmaceutico en .com "

    s’était libre j ai pas plus m'en empêché !

  • I think it's great Google offer me things based on my interests.

And it very extrusive and convenient.

  • At least with Gmail I do not receive 20 Spams everyday. Hotmail is old, laggy and full of spams, spams and spams... Poor product. Same for Skydrive (100Mb upload limitation, no way to delete a batch of files).

  • @2arturobandini This is about Office 365, not Hotmail (which is far improved as of late, btw).

  • Fail M$ seriously failed here...

  • I use GMail and love it.

Microsoft mail is just plain banal

  • Go google and android

  • Omg this is just so the truth

  • what..just..happened

  • @CmdShepard Sorry u think that way. I just expressed an opinion. Microsoft has good products, but instead of showing those, they choose to do an ad like this, disloyal and poor (although funny). Other ads from microsoft made me wanna use their product, but this...it just doesn't made me feel anything.

And, please, keep it free of vulgaries.

  • Oh, and hotmail should peek at hotmail accounts. It would help its users to NOT get +50 spam emails a day.

  • No one reads gmail emails. An algarithm does. «Oh, some thousand lines of code read my email, help me God!»

This is a childish and desperate move from Microsoft. I actually hacked into a Hotmail account yesterday and that crap still sucks. Even something as simple as navigating thought the email pages is a nightmare. Lagged as shit. Plus, the javascript of it crashed my browser.

    Way to go.

  • ouch!

  • im amazed that this video still is on youtube lol

  • I didn't even notice those ads until I watched this.

  • yea but office 365 doesn't have free long distant phone online

  • At least Gmail works everyday I need it.

  • Lol I just checked the ads in my inbox - Viagra, penis enlargement and condoms...accurate? yep, 100%

  • man, 50 google employeers created accounts to dislike this Video :)

  • Gmail Rocks!

  • I am on my Windows box watching this vid... BLEEM!

  • Comment removed

  • Makes sense

  • This isn't an ad... It's just a joke Microsoft played

  • @ new philosopher its not an ad.. It's a video Microsoft employee made for them as a joke. Lol

  • Fuck google

  • Before you guys all go on about how terrible this marketing is, this ad is clearly a response to the despicable marketing tactics Gmail has used for their "intervention"

  • Where's the FBI Man reading all your mails personally?

  • fuck micro$

  • Hmmm... I switched from Hotmail to Gmail for this very same reason years ago... can you say POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK?

  • This Ad was not made for average everyday people that no one cares about. It was not put on you tube by MS. It was shown at the business conference. Its a business product. And businesses might not want people looking at their mail.

  • It is real, the skimming for information. i designed my email system to defeat gmail man. in the information system write code to convert email to. pdf attachement. sadly the damage done to business is done on the receiving end. if u send a client an email and the client uses gmail. google is kind enough to include your competitors ad with your email. the way the ad and lead was generated for my competitor was by fraudulantly snooping on emails. a bot searches for keywords. I like gmail.

  • Cheap propaganda tactics combined with misinformation. I like that, because it's as funny as watching WW2 propaganda. Does it make me want to "ditch"G-Mail and go Office 3-6-5"? Absolutely not though!

  • Internet - It doesn't make you stupid, it just makes your stupidity more accessible to others.

  • very cheap ad

  • Microsoft has no ideas! Microsoft does not innovate! Microsoft has nothing good and different to offer! So the only alternative is to mess to the competition. If you can not be better ... destroy them.

  • This kinda makes me like Gmail even more now. Sorry Microsoft.

  • I'm an advertiser and this is all kinds of wrong, you know a company can't go lower and it's desperate to boost sells when it starts attacking directly the competition, besides if microsoft have so much money why they can't make a better commercial than this? it's really poorly done and have nothin actually funny,

    thumbs up for google!

  • I actually clicked a Gmail ad one time when reading an email for flowers, so it works at least once every 4 years.

  • it's funny because it's true!

  • Well. at least Gmail is free, what you expect from a free service?

  • I used to only use Google but started "Binging" things and I've been impressed. Their maps are superior at least in the United States. It's a very worthy alternative to Google in my opinion.

  • If you are a terrorist and are afraid of someone else looking at your mail, don't use Gmail. In my case, gmail is excelent and I don't care about the advertisements. The checkspeller is very wellcome. I'll never use again anything else from MS (I'm a linux user)

  • I laughed, and still will use gmail over anything from Microsoft (or the fruity company).

You can't control me MS. You want to take all the documents from MY computer onto your "365".

  • Haha. This is the best M$ can come up with? I'd like to see 'Bing' officially become a transitive verb. "Hey, did you Bing that?" Don't think so. :-)

I use Gmail, Google calendar, Google Docs, Google Picasa, Google Plus and have an Android phone -with easy access to all of these services-. Except for the hardware, it costs me nothing. How much would the same set-up cost me when I use Microsoft products?

  • @zxchjkify ♫ Gooogle Whore! BAM! ♫

  • @CmdShepard Microsoft whore! :-D (Judging by the background of your channel). But if you don't mind, I'm selling my body for ads.

  • @zxchjkify you damned sold to google :)

Come with us, we have Internet Ex..oh, wait, that's not much big of a deal, isn't it?

well, we have METRO UI! and cookies! lots of delicious cookies made in the form of the windows logo! :)

  • I thought they look at your browser history and searched to determine ads. I don't believe they really skim your emails...do they?

  • Great parody. Congrats MS ;)

    Such things are rarely seen.

  • @Lichtemitter And yeah, beside that it's the simple truth. Googles income = ads.

  • "BING and you're lame!"

  • Hey..if you freaked out about gmail man, wait till u see what facebook man does

  • it is just me or anyone else wished a piano could fall on that little girl's head?

  • @matheussousuke just you i guess. she'll be a satisfied customer of office 3-6-5

  • @TheFerrango I was talking about her noisy voice.

  • One more thing, I've seen the original video, it's on an account that wont allow you to post comments or rate it. If MS is so cool, why do they use Youtube? They should only announce their videos on their SilverLight player at msn video.

  • The worst way of preventing yourself from getting new customers is by making those kinds of critics to your competitors' services. I talk for everyone here when I say that Gmail is 34500 times way better than any microsoft email related service. Google is beating MS in almost everything, want an example? Who the hell uses BING search?

You never find what you want when you try Bing.

  • MS, it is just pathetic. You could try to design some awesome unseen service instead of just moaning about how Google is "spying" on us. Seriously? It is all automated, even Google has no resources to read all mail sent and received via Gmail. So, this means all statistics is almost anonymous, and advertising on what people is interested on is awesome idea, if it would not- it would not work. Try harder Troll Microsoft.

  • use Adblock Plus & NoScript

  • @Nordpferd That won't stop the bot reading your mail.

  • Gmail still the best, becaus it's light. hahahahaha it's funny anyway.

  • Type and Five don't rhyme.

  • im not going to stop using gmail but i think this was hella funny, really well made

  • ...I don't know which is funnier. This vid OR watching 2 Hotmail accounts drop connectivity in Outlook...

  • When you control the Mail, you CONTROL INFORMATION.

  • Truthfully ladies and gentlemen, I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't use Gmail and don't have an affinity for Microsoft. I just thought it was funny.

  • @ZNorthupDigitalCamp - Please keep the comments free of vulgarities. You can slam anyone or any company you want, but there's no reason to be profane.

  • @ZNorthupDigitalCamp Welcome, Yahoo user. =]

e comunque il jingle 'makes you wanna ditch your gmail and go office 3-6-5' è parecchio orecchiabile.

  • If Microsoft did what gmail did, you would definitely flame. Keep sucking...

  • I like Gmail and I thought it was funny as hell!

  • But of course it's fine for Bing to slipstream paid ads in with their 'natural' search results...

  • The least he could do is stop following around Gordon Freeman. Nosey fuck.

  • Microsoft is so gay

    Leave google alone

Doesnt mean theyre more productive u have to screw their whole efoort

  • Comment removed

  • So what?

  • google makes damn good products, and you can opt out from their shit if you want

  • This is so true.

  • Don't be evil. Huh!!

  • Every email my company sends via gmail when opened has paid ads of our competitors. The work around is to send message in.pdf format. Throws sand in gmail mans eyes. Relevant ads disappeared. we work our asses off for our leads. gmail gives them to our competitors. one lost job can be thousands. unethical.

  • @arrdvarks33: You're using GMail for Business?

  • @arrdvarks33 you can also use images, bots cant detect images content, that's why people created captchas, to fool bots.

  • wtg alan. seriously, can microsoft even say the words "don't be evil" without spontaneously combusting. this ad is funny, but notice how it's not about hotmail? i swear hotmail was doing the same.

  • @gomezpants no, they're definetly not. their ads on the live.net site have absolutely nothing to do with what i type, they're quite the opposite or absolutely unrelated to my interests.

  • When you have a good product, you make an ad about it, showing its cool features, its benefits and so on.

When you have a crappy product, you make an ad about the competition, and how they are likely to cause you cancer, kill your kitten, rape your kids and destroy the environment.

Way to go M$, you nailed it again with your ads.

  • @alanbonjour

Nice way of thinking, but kind of wrong, this is just competition.

I hope you remember the "I'm a Mac.." ad from Macintosh, this is kind of similar, at least for me.

  • @Kkomen I don't see at as "the same". In the "I'm a Mac" ad, Apple shows the benefits of a Mac over a PC (Windows), with things such as "I work just out of the box", "I don't have viruses" and stuff. In this ad, Microsoft didn't even mention his product except for just one line (If you're not a techie guy you don't even know what Office 365is, and what it offers)

So, ads like that are only made when you don't have much to offer, but what to avoid people going to the competition.

  • @alanbonjour

It's kind of obvious why they just showed that one line with only the name of the product "Office 365"

This video was showed at the "Microsoft Global Exchange sales conference" as far as I know, so everyone in there know what it is.

This video was recorded by one of the attendees.

btw in the "I'm a Mac" ad, I think they were attacking directly to Microsoft, apart from showing the "good things" that the Mac has to offer, don't you think? :)

  • @Kkomen absolutely agree with the mac thing.. instead of showing their mac, they bash pc's.. and people praise Apple like some sort of god.. please stop it.. but when MS doing it, it's MS fault??? come on..

  • @alanbonjour just like apple and "I'm a pc" ads, and yet they have great products.

♫ Your comment is unsolicited, and epic fail. You just wanna lick ser-gay brin ass! ♫

  • @alanbonjour sounds like politics in real modern time

  • @alanbonjour I couldn't agree more. The said thing is that it is very common in politics as well.

  • @alanbonjour It was much better than the FUD against open office anyway

  • @alanbonjour I totally agree with you.

  • How long until Google takes this down?

  • Comment removed

  • @wwalker58526 microsoft didn't post it. it was leaked.

  • Ya know what Microsoft, give me all your software for free, and then'll we'll talk. As far as I'm concerned Google software is free because they advertise, you're just jealous at how amazingly Google is doing compared to you. I hope you die, and that windows 7, err, 8 becomes open source.

  • i really want to see a Hotmail-man video now XD

  • @FelipeChoque hahaha, Bill Gates is too old for that.

  • not user gmail

  • wait a minute...is gmail doing that?? is it READING my mail in order to show me more annoying ads?

  • @luisademir Yes they are.

  • Gmail user +1

  • i use gmx
