自分達の音楽がどこまで通用するか・・・緊張感と意欲が伝わるラ­イブでした。ホントに幸宏さんのドラムはすごい!!　リズム感超絶でタイトでへたれない。打ち込みテクノとは違うね。­メンバーも超一流!!　日本にこんなバンドもう現れないんじゃないか？

I never really checked out these guys, except for the misnamed 'Computer Game' track, which I later learned was really 'Firecracker', 'Computer Game 'Theme from Circus'' was the intro track on the album they released in '78. These guys must have started off the electronic, romantic movement that everyone credits to guys like Gary Numan. Cars came out in 79. I guess it was because YMO didn't put out lyrical pop music songs they're overlooked by the casual music fan. Great stuff!!!!

Kraftwerk began in 1970 and didn't start creating electronic music with synthesizers until the mid-70s, but yes, Kraftwerk did start producing electronic music before YMO. In contrast to the dystopian "robot pop" of Kraftwerk, however, YMO introduced their own distinct styles, including a more melodic synth pop sound and a more upbeat techno/electro sound.

I think that YMO definitely started the "new wave music" in England, and influenced lots of pop music scenes in the USA and all over the world!
