guys.. the rangers did have nikita filatov at their training camp. they released him after bringing in michael del zotto and petr nedved, then they got rid of both of them and brought up lauri korpokoski and colton orr. so yes nikita was at the rangers prospect camp and then he got asked to play for the crunch. h accepted. end of story

umm... why would Nikita Filatov be at the rangers training camp when he was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackeys? And wasnt ASKED to play for the Crunch, he was sent down by the Jackets because he isn't ready, most likely due to conditioning and different stly of play in NA.

It kind of sounds like your confused at how training camp actually works...

Whether he was at a rangers prospect dvelopment camp before the being drafted is another story. But I think I would have heard about that.

Now re-reading your post I'm pretty sure your confusing Nikita with Alexi Cherepanov, the Rangers top pick 2 years ago. He wasnt even at training camp this year or last year because the Russian season starts before the camp does. But he was at the rangers prospect camp last year right after he was drafted.

Hope that clears things up. He is still playing in Russia and will probably be playing with the rangers next year, and Nikita is playing with the Crunch and will probably be sent up soon.

uhh no they didn't the Blue Jackets had him at training camp. and was sent to Syracuse because they didn't want to pull a Brule and rush him into the NHL. but he is making his Debut Tomorrow night against Nashville.
