Jeff Porcaro - What an amazing artist! The right hand and bass pedal work mimics the spacing on the lyrics. Still the first call drummer in Heaven for all the musically departed. Also notice the backup singers. The lady in the middle can dance her natural ass off. What moves!
@NToombes Hi, it's that classic 20" 602 medium ride that he used in his instructional video, sooo cool! You'll find it in a lot of his recordings particularly between '84 - '89 after which I believe he went onto Paiste Signatures...
@PaisteFormula602 I bought one of those cymbals, in order to get that SOUND. Unfortunately I couldn't round up an entire drum kit, as planned, so if you know anyone who wants to buy . . .mine is used, but she's a beauty. Jeff was THE man, BTW. Miss him every single day.
@Blunznstricker hi!! thanks so much for uploading this video :))...where did you take this? because i was wondering if it's possible to have a full verson of this amazing song...thanks ;)
@Jazzbz It was recorded at the former RCA building in Hollywood. The studio is now part of a film school. It was known as Wally Heider studios and Elvis, Frank Sinatra and other 50s-60s super stars recorded there.
