  • so before i did it your way i got (-x-8) (x-3). is this wrong? when i do the math to check i get the right answer. When i do the math to check your answer: -1(x-3)(x+8) i get an inverted equation, being: x^2+5x-24.

can someone check this for me?

  • thank you for posting this video. Its helped me a lot, and I think I mayjust pass my exam now. :) I do have one question though, what happens if X is greater that 1X or Xsquared?.. for example 5X?

  • I don't know of a teacher who's ever given Apx. 39 million lessons and counting. Therefore, SAL IS THE BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD!

  • idont understand this

  • what happens when you have x^3 or x^4 or x^5 in the beginning of the equation?

also can you show us how to factorise using the equation ax^2+bx+c, where a,b,c are constants and A is not equal to 0

  • this guy sounds like sparc mac. good math lesson tho helped a lot

  • Holy crap... could this video be any longer?! Mrs. B, if your reading this... your fired...

  • you said coefficient again..

  • You sound Canadian "ehh times b"

  • You say "co-efficient" weird...

  • Cool blackboard bro

  • Thanks alot Mrs. B.....

  • thank you, this really helped

  • He didn't finnish any of them.

  • I think I've gone brain-dead.. It's too late in the night for this haha

  • YES I CAN FINALLY FACTOR

  • I'd learn so much more if all my teachers were YouTube.

  • Thanks for the video man, once you get A + B = 10 and A x B = 9, can you do systems of equations?

  • Thanks so much :D

  • plz do one with a decimal...plz :)

  • same here!!

  • thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you just saved my life

  • lol 2x11 does not = 24 in your second equation lol

  • Thx alot ur tutoring helped me score proficient on my placement test into college after 3 straight years of not taking algebra

  • OMG YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!

  • I NEED A PRIVATE TEACHER LIKE YOU

  • OMG I JUST REALIZED YOU SOUND LIKE WOODY FROM TOY STORY ALKDJALKJ

  • I love your handwriting. Tell me: are you using a tablet pen? What software are you using and how are you recording your screen?

  • thanks, you saved my life for my exam

  • doesnt matter if the a and b swich places, right? i always get the right result

  • I can't wait to be rich to donate so much money to this guy and his foundation omg. so much help. never fails..

  • Khan you've done it again, Great job!

  • This video helped me so much! Thank you! My teacher can't explain how to do this if his life depended on it. Thank you so much! :)

  • My test is on in a few hours and you are a legend!

  • Can you do one of these where the coefficient of x is greater than 1, like 6 or 18 or something like that?

  • @kingzfan2000 thats what i need help with

  • @kingzfan2000 you use the quadratic equation for that one

  • @Wayne469338

    HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH you are so funny

  • Thanks for uploading these videos

    they really help !

    i appreciate it :)

  • Clear explanations, easy to follow. Excellent how he explains the use of the coefficients: a, b & c in factoring.

  • One word rounds this up - excellent, really simple to understand, the constant examples are brillant to learn, many text books only show one example with one answer, with the rest of the chapter showing questions with no answers. Again excellent teaching.

  • teaches hella good

i wish my teacher could teach like him lol

  • this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey, just wanted to say, im brushing up on math for taking the asvab, and havent taken a math class since the 8th grade. this video really helped me out. most other vids just assume everyone interested in learning how to solve algebraic fractions undestands this step and neglects to teach it. thank you for your help! like your teaching style!

  • its hard 2 pay attention in class where the teacher has more students and i have add so i drift off in class constantly and with a more secluded class its easier to concentrate

  • YOU A LIFE SAVER MY DUDE!!!!!!! Ima gonna graduate college and learn all kinds of math because of you!!!! YEE!!!

    FREE MAX B

  • Sal, factoring becomes quite the pain when the coefficient of x^2 is not 1. Will you be doing some of this type, I can often do them but is there a standard method that always works for these.

    e.g 6 x^2+23 x+21

  • @hifhif123 29x^3 -21 ?

  • @hifhif123 use the quadratic equation
