  • what cams are you running?? I have not added a blower yet but my 84 trans am has a 383 stroker with comp cams thumpr thumper 513. lift a pro built 700r4 tranny hooker supercomp headers with brodix heads 200cc and a built 3.73 rear end I push about 460tq and 410hp thinking of more lift

  • hey man sweet iroc. how much power was the 305 making with that supercharger?? im thinking about stroking my 305 and putting a blower but was wondering if itll do any good.

  • I got the same Camaro. My 350's tired so I'm gonna go 383 when I rebuild it this winter, but I'm gonna do an NA set up with a 6500 rpm cam, set of heads, and high compression pistons.

  • you'll have a hard time getting twin turbos to fit under the hood, i've seen one w/ holes cut-out in the hood and there turbos were sticking through it, and that was an cowl induction hood!!

  • Figured id add insult to injury on the little honda shit talker. I just sold my 502whp pump gas SR20DET to build a Forged 383 small block chevy in my 240sx. There is no replacement for displacement. Paired up with a stalled automatic and you got a Wheels Up Import :-)

Im about to stroke mine out to a 383 but I'd like to add on a Supercharger, but I've heard that if i do that then my compression will be too high to run on pump gas? Just wondering how yours is doin.

  • Question, I bought a '87 Camaro, it was originally a V6 and was swapped to a used carbed 350/350hp chevy, ( not sure where this motor was pulled out from ) by the previous owner, my question is, how are the 350s stroked to a 383? how much bore is required? what kind of cam should be used?   • Insteal of a 3.48 stroke crank, use a 3.75inch crank. and only .30 over for bore. Don't use to big of cam, you might run into cam-crank clearance.

  • this is a 1987 z28 iroc tpi 305 manual. i obviously modified aot of things. the engine is a brand new 350 bored and stroked too a 383 stroker, big mouth intake, paxton cent. supercharger which was orginally on the car when i bought it with the 305,etc. the only thing which is giving me problems i havent modified is the heads they are still stock 350 heads and the compression keeps blowin my valves too shreds, im savin up to get some great heads and have it installed and tuned professionally,

  • Aree you talkin about the LT5 which was an all-aluminum 349 5.7 SB V8, which was actually built be Mercury marine and had an entirely differant bore and stroke of other 350s and was entirely different from any of the other Chevy SB engines..OR..the LT1 which was a 2-valve pushrod 5.7 that had a cooling system that cooled the heads first allowing a higher compression to be run..OR..The LT4 a special HO version of the LT1. With a more aggressive cam profile, better-flowing intake and heads ?????

  • Pretty much anything with a supercharger is a sleeper, unless you can recognize the whine.. a car with 350hp can easily sound like that.. slap on a supercharger... 500hp whole new ballgame! :) ill be making about 650 with mine

  • theres the v6 2.8, the v8 305, and the v8 350 you could only get the 350 automatic tho. But you could take a 305 body with the stick and throw a 350 stroked to a 383 which is prolly what this dude did. I need one of these cars SO BAD.

  • you can convert the engine from mass air flow to speed density so you don't need the MAF. this guys sick car has to be computer tuned so with the correct programming you can do just about anything.

  • thats definitely a centrifugal supercharger. riaftw was almost correct, the difference between a supercharger and a turbo charger is that the supercharger is belt driven, and the turbos is exhaust gas driven. you actually get a better gain from a turbo because there is less draw on the engine, but you have better charged air response from a supercharger. however, you can't beat twin variable geometry turbos with enough boost to give you 1100hp on a 427 small block.

  • Or you could just go with dual forced induction. Turbo running into a roots still blower.  Hard to do and not very many out there. But tons and tons of power.

  • glass packs and 40 series flowmasters are some of the worst flowing mufflers, but to each his own, I'm liking that blown 383 tho, I'll post a vid of my 83 camaro

  • for exhaust i would go with purple hornies from flowtech they are basically glasspacks that bolt straight on to the header if you dont want it that loud i wuld go with slps or some sort of exhaust with glasspacks

  • seat covers i agree, they are only there to protect the mint seats underneath. they do not stay on unless its put to bed under its cover. My babby has not been runnin for some time now.did not have mone left to get the correct heads had to use stock. As guessed the valves could not hold up.exhaust comments agree just havent gotten to that either thinkin about side exhaust tips comin out right in front of rear wheels. any suggestions on exhaust setups much appreciated.

  • Love the car on exhaust i would go with the flowmaster 80 with the rear exit LT headers and o/r y pipe with mandreal bent 3" all the way and onther thing love the car but i really hate red intiror i had an 86 Z28 with the five speed and the very shitty 305 carbed

  • i only put those seat covers on to keep the seats mint, they also match the color sceam of the interior red/black which i have never seen in anyone else iroc
