It's good Hill Song talk some talk on Social Justice. But I don't see them as contributing to movements for greater democracy etc, but as taking advantage of good-willed ppl. I'll believe this church believes in real social justice when they acknowledge a woman's right to abortion, gays to not be penalised for being so, for greater taxation of the uber wealthy & the restoration of social safety nets 4 the unemployed and disabled. When they contribute to united front work with other secular orgs.
@Tuathalful How does true Christianity penalize gays? It is a sin to act on homosexuality, just as it is a sin for a straight man to lust over a woman. The whole video speaks about putting Gods kingdom first, not fulfilling sinful desires. The objects you call democracy are also known as socialism. (Re-distribution of wealth, abortion, government welfare, etc.) Open your eyes and Jesus in your heart, and don't compare apples to oranges. You'd be amazed at what you see.
Thank God the youth are leading the Way! Jesus did exactly what they are doing. People who think that this is a social doctrine have not read the New Testament. They are the ones deceived, thinking their one-way ticket to heaven without social consciousness is salvation!? Fundamentalism along with a health-wealth gospel is a stench in heaven and in the earth.
All followers of the social doctrine must know that Jesus will not save you simply because you are to have no other god besides God. He is your redeemer and yours alone and to claim that it is the collective that will save you through social justice or collective salvation is saying that that is your redeemer, your god, your Jesus and though shall have no other redeemer other than him. You have been warned!
your right, alot of the people Hillsong and there students qoute are proclaimed socialist or marxist. This is a very slippery slope Hillsong is headed down and they better be careful. How come none of there material emphasizes christ but justice. Something is wrong
while I appreciate what is trying to be done, it seems that the worship focus is oddly on the band and singers - in other words, the "altar" is the stage and the focal point is the ensemble. It seems like it is a rock concert where the adoration is directed to the stage. I know it is not the intent, but it seems almost idolatrous; more or less like a attending a rock concert and calling it
If you ever get a chance to experience worship like this, let me know how you think after you walk out. I assure you, "rock concert" is the last thing you're thinking about.
You really should invest 10 minutes and find out what social justice is really about. I'm not kidding. I used a lot of references. Research truth, don't buy into the propaganda.
@virilitas It's not a rock concert. The genre of the music they're playing is the sound of this generation. You see, our generation's music is not the classical type. Our instruments basically are e.guitars, keys, drums. The place that you call the stage is just the place where the worship team are: the instrumentalists, the worship leaders. The adoration is not directed to the stage, it's directed to HIM; to HIM alone. No idolatry there. They're looking above. The people are singing to God. :)
It isn't only the poor who need Jesus. What about successful people? what about normal people? Also there is a difference between the poor and someone who will not work.
I agree with you, as the "Lost" doesn't mean only poor people, but people who doesn't know Christ. We need to bring all peoples of this earth back into God's arms
I believe every church has a different purpose in the body of Christ. The biggest commandment was to "go and make disciples", however, there has to be adoration, worship and praise...and we know that's not only done through our singing but through our lifestyle..continuously.
In the body of Christ everyone has a different purpose: An eye can't hear...and an hear can't see...I say: to the church each one of us belong to...give your best to the Lord and let Him use you to save lifes. God Bless!
It isn't only the poor who need Jesus - what about successful people? and normal people? Also there is a difference between the poor and someone who will not work.
This video is so Powerful. I live for Christ and I pray that you do too. May we give Glory to the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings every moment of our life.

no there about a global liberal movement of wealth re-distribution. The guy above me is exactly right, social justice is really about socialism.
