  • The charge rate is equal to one time constant if you charge one farad at one amp for one second. A time constant is 63 percent. I put my 2600F ultracap on a 2.5V, 1 amp power supply, and it takes more than an hour to charge fully. Remember that it slows down at the end., If you compare a regular 1000 uF electrolytic to a glass of water, these ultracaps are like a swimming pool!! They're incredible! And a Joule Thief will run brightly for days on one charged to 2.5V..

  • how long does the dicharge rate last and how long does it take to charge up

  • @donahuerules , Not sure what you're asking. Discharge rate and charge rate change with amp draw and charge amperage. But the capacitor is rated at 3000 Farad.

  • how long does the dicharge rate last

  • Nice job! You light should be very bright for a long time with that sized boost cap. I am jealous and want one, ha ha. I am guessing it did not take that long to charge up either, which is another reason I like these caps.

Very well done. I am looking forward to seeing more of your experiments here.
