Take it from a swamp rat tex, cat fuzz sucks as stand alone tinder even when dry. its possible as youve shown but the combo method with the fuzz as a base works best. good job too. snow fires are a bitch.

yur birds nest kinda fell apart.. of course it's hard to do with a ferro rod and wet tinder.try thinner material. You're going for surface area to volume ratio.. you want that to be high. The only difference between cold and hot firestarting is how fast you can jump between thick and thin things.. and also it does no good for the bigger stuff to be on the bottom.. not trying to be an asshole.. just trying to help love yur vids man.
