Hey man is there any way you can give me more info on what you have into your exhaust? I love the way it sounds... is that sound the flowmaster 40? does it start poping and cracking at high rpms? did you have the muffle welded into place with stock piping before and after?
on my 99 at first i just had the cat the well nothing and i liked the sound and i found out that there is ny down stream O2 sencer so you can remove the cat with ny problem i am thinking a straight pype back to a Y then run a set of duces
If you want to add some extra power and sound, put on one of those Ebay y-pipes for the 6.8l. I put one on my dads 03' V10. I have Doug Thorley Headers on my 04' V10.
yep stock pipes. just changed the stock muffler with a two chamber or 40 series flowmaster. and its completely stock other than a K&N air filter. its a 2000

I got a 2000 Ford V10 and for some unknown resone it has never sounded like any of my freinds V10 Fords.
Even with the factory muffler it was loud at throttle.

Personally, I'm up for the straight piped.
wewillforget1 2 years ago
now Thrush has a muffler that is the same as the Flowmaster 40 series, I just put one on my 05 f-150 and it sounds badass
myampslouder 3 years ago
stock piping is where your losing your sound. 3 or 3.5 inch piping would solve that. id go with a glasspack too, it makes it just a bit louder.
upurnose46 3 years ago 2
3.5 is too big
zytekfan 2 years ago
maybe just a little, thats why i said 3 also. diesel is sick tho how some people put like 5 inch pipes on there trucks
upurnose46 2 years ago
3.5 is to big? no your just to small!
SoCoMx309 2 years ago 3
still too quiet =]
darkmp40 3 years ago
hmm. my 40 series sounds way different then that. then again mine's a 2008 5.4 still shouldn't be that much difference
brentweasenforth 3 years ago
This is the V10. There is a WORLD of difference. Ever heard the same Flowmaster on a V6?
Starsandstraps31 3 years ago 3

Is the rest of exhaust stock? Which muffler is this...series 40 Flowmaster? Any other mods?
I have a 2005 v10 F250 and I'm looking at getting the Flowmaster cat back system if they offer it.

get rid of that cat and it'll sound a hole lot better lol shoulda got a diesel
wildreb15 3 years ago
ya i gotta agree get rid of the cat but if u want it to still look legal just cut it off and break all the shit out and weld it back on
i have an 01 f250 v10 and i just straight piped it and it sounded bad but then i broke out the platinum in the cat and it sounds good now
+ it's a lot cheaper
