Many thanks for posting these lessons! Great playing! It's challenging to learn by ear without tab but it's well worth the effort. Makes you think more about what you're doing. Bela inspired me to start playing about seven years ago but I've never been able to figure out how to play his songs. It's great to see his stuff broken down and explained.
What is the 3rd chord in the intro? You mention g sharp which would be x3111 - but that doesn't sound right. Then the climbing progression in the intro - F then it moves up the neck in similar formation but not exactly the same. Could you give us the tab numbers of those chords? Thanks
You are a great player and very talented to figure all that out. But you gloss over a lot for us mortals. I figured you are tuned to standard C not double C but some (most) of those chord formations and progressions are very hard to make out. Anyway, thanks for doing it. I will keep working to decipher this great tune
I think I'm the one who conned you into posting these lessons for this song! You're a true talent man! I'm still struggling with some of the parts here, but your explanations are pretty clear. thanks again for taking the time!
Great man! because this is a very good tune. I have tabs for the song, but not the intro. And I think that the intro is very important too! It's very skilled that you can sort bela's stuff out by ear btw! I can't do it, only single string pieces by recording them and slowing it down with a program. I'm just not expierenced enough, But at least i have a couple of years to go...

G sharp? Don't forget that intro is a bunch of minors though. So try G#m.
No tab, sorry.

Yes, the 4th string (D) is tuned down to a C.
Sorry the lesson isn't more detailed. If there's a specific part you need help with, let me know and I can try to put another vid up.

can you show the cords of the intro more clearly?
thanks for the video, Gr, jac

I'll see if I can get the time to do that.

Sure, I could do that. It's hard to get the right camera positions. I guess left hand is more useful to see than right hand though.
Thanks for the comment!

Yah, I won't be able to play like this for at least another couple years. I need more time! Thanks for posting though, your videos are excellent.
