@DerAufklarung toute l'inspiration d'IAM vient de New York, ils ont pas mal vécu là bas comme beaucoup de pionniers du rap français pour s'imprégner de l'atmosphère Hip-Hop qu'ils dégagent.

Akhenaton a même failli signer dans une filiale de Def Jam en tant que beatmaker et la dernière mixtape qu'il a fait s'appelle ''we love New York''. Tout vient des states et les rappeurs dont se sont inspirés IAM n'ont rien de débiles simplement bling-bling. Ca vient de Wu-Tang, Nas, KRS one, Mobb Deep etc
