You can get a Norinco model, semi only, 16 inch barrel for about 7-900 dollars. SBR models can be made from that with either a new barrel or a cut and recrowned stock barrel, and the normal paperwork and 200 dollars. FA models require you to be lots of things. This is all only if your in the US though.
@josuedelatorre35 yes you can as long as your state allows them and its made before the 86 cut off date,no license needed unless your a dealer other wise its just a one time $200 fee
You can, but you have to have the correct licensing, and the hoops you have to jump through make it quite hard to do so. Its very expensive to get the proper licensing and continue to hold it, as its a yearly renewal.
@foughtwolf your talking about dealers not private owners,there are only a couple of forms to fill out and get your prints done as well as attach photos to the paper work,then send $200 dollars in with it and wait a couple months,then you get a stamp no licence or permit just a stamp attached to your paperwork.plus you have to live in a state that allows them and the tax is a one time thing
did you have to mess with that adapter to get it to run well? when I talked to the guy form A & D about one for M16/22, he said everything should be polished well. I am just wondering if it works better on an open bolt gun.
I'm still tinkering with it. It ran great the first couple of mags. But it's been iffy since then. I'm thinking I need to try lubing with graphite. I tried running a drum through it after the MI subgun match and it choked 10 or 15 times.
@klyph12 It wouldn't matter if its an open bolt gun or a closed bolt gun. However what will matter is how the bolt operates. Any bolt with a rotating head, is going to take more gas to operate, however every .22 conversion i've seen makes the gun operate as a direct blow back system. Your in the clear.
Excellent video! I have had nothing but trouble with Federal bulk pack ammo in my MGs designed for use with .22 as well as those with .22 conversion kits (like yours). I have had best results with Remington Golden Bullet ammo...the value pack brass plated hollow point stuff that comes in boxes of 525 rounds . Some of my .22 MGs are very picky and will only feed this stuff. Other than that, they like the CCI minimags, but not as much as the Golden Bullets. Also, what suppressor is that?

@steeltoe1978
The can is a Bowers CAC-45. Despite the extra-large (for a .22) exit hole, it works very well with smaller calibers including 9mm & .22LR.
