How Much Compassion Should Orthodox Judaism Have For Homosexuals?

Hi Tzedaqyal, my conscious religious guidance comes from Judaism, but I am sure my Adventist background affects me. I don't eat meat or drink (beyond a few mouthfuls for kiddish), swear, etc. I am an Alexander Technique teacher, so health remains an interest for me.

How many times in history orthodox needed compassion - and didn't get any? It seems to me that that's a matter of tolerance...There are many ways of being religious in many senses; gayim (?) shouldn't condemn moralists and vice-versa. Both will remain existing in this world after we pass away.

You know there's good and bad in all sorts. There are good Jews and bad ones just as there are Muslims that say they are good and are not. Religious Supremacy leads to nothing constructive and it's sad to see it. There are many people claiming to know Islam so perfectly well and they are the same people preaching violence and hatred of other people's religions and cultures, saying just because someone practices a bit differently that they are deviant would make the prophet pbuh angry and sad

With all due respect, your comments about the Jewish Community are very unfounded, most of our life is spent debating the true understanding of G-d's words and how to live them in the modern world. We are constantly worried about maintaining Kosher laws, keeping the Sabbath and all the holidays and traditions...why? Because G-d commanded us to. That is why we terry around these things and disprove your point of view. Instead of accusing people why dont you go to a Rabbi and calmly ask?

A 10-year-old boy being kicked out of an orthodox Jewish summer camp because he confided to his counselor that he likes boys .

a 14 girl living on the street after being thrown out by her parents because they cant handle that fact shes not attracted to boys.

There is NO halachic basis for subjecting anyone to such deplorable treatment and its these commonplace injustices that need to stop.

Coming out of the closet, as being of an other-than-strait orientation does not me necessarily equate to being sexually active (just as being of a heterosexual orientation doesnt automatically imply being sexual active).

The fact of the matter is that the frum community rarely takes in to account whether a person is abstinent or not and routinely mistreats individuals simply for the fact that they are lgbt.
