  • This piece opened my Grandad's funeral a month ago; i have no words to sufficiently describe its effect on me still. It is a simple yet stunningly moving piece and i am so pleased to have heard it.

  • Three years have passed since this was posted, I found it today and I'm so happy I did. Acker's finest and the universe in one place. Perfect.

  • To my mate stephen always think of you when this song is playing,,R I P..Buddy

  • This starts out beautiful and builds to one of the most exquisite instrumentals I have ever heard. Acker you're the greatest

  • Could you tell me who composed this song?

    I thank you so much.

  • when i hear this all my troubles take a back seat

  • @jalong165 Yes, you are right, Jesus is called Mighty God (Isa9:6) and he is our wonderful mediator between God and men (1Tim2:5). Jesus Christ is head of man, just as God is the head of Christ (1 Co11:3). Jesus also said he always did what was pleasing to his Father (Joh8:29) and that is why he was obedient to him as far as death (Phil 2:8) Yes, Jesus existed before Abraham because he is the firstborn of all creation (Col 1:15-17; Prov 8:22-30)

  • A woman sings this song, it's divine, but I don't know her name, I'd like to find it with such woman, she sings this song in french, if somebody knows her name, please, tell me. Thank you

  • @adenauermartins I know that Shirley Bassey sings it under the title, "Born to Lose". Maybe you can find your artist by searching with that title. Hope it helps!

  • Thank you for the wonderful collection of constellations that give a glimpse of the magnificent artistry of our Almighty God Jehovah whose first creation is our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you!

  • @Stargazer197s, Jesus Christ is God, not a created being. John 8:58, John 20:28, and I could give you many more references that are witness of this truth.

  • I'll say it again, a man who is a legend in his lifetime. I saw him live on 25 Sept 2010 and at 82 - he captivated the audience and I was privileged to sit and listen A wonderful evening.

  • At 82 he still holds his audience with his command of the clarinet. Wonderful. Saw his Sat. 25th Sept. 2010 live.

  • wonderful both music and video

  • This My Grandads favorite song had it played at his funeral

  • i love clarinets voice ang this music

  • I don't care for his songs, and here is why -- WAY too short. Of course I jest. He has simply some of the most beautiful music ever played. I only and sincerely wish each song would go on forever.

If you love this music check out Kitaro's Silk Road Live. It's quite enchanting as well.

    God bless...

  • I'd like to know if somebody has the letter of this music.

  • superbe vidéo très relaxante

  • my music. relaxing ang peacful i love it

  • lindo muy bello

  • I love this music.

  • the best

  • I noticed that the Trifid Nebula is pictured here. If you go to the Hubble news site Nov 1999 Trifid Nebula, and look for the dragon it is an amazing painting done with gases. It talks of a star having an abrupt end. See if you can find it.

  • Probably the best composition/arrangement I've ever heard - Ennio Morricone wishes he wrote this I bet!!!

  • this is a lovely piece of music. It's beautiful and timeless but please lets keep the sentimental clap trap out of the comments section! PLEASE!!

  • @delalune08 some people like sentiment. who are you to tell them to keep out?

  • @petekay62 People who dont like sentimental memories have no life!

  • Always brings a tear to my eye when i hear this it's very deep and emotional don't know why, excellent

  • @tamiyanutts ....brings a tear 2 mine aswell....cant think why just does...beautiful piece of music.

  • @tamiyanutts it's a lovely piece of music, played by people who care, both about music, and other people. it's a damn shame there that there are not more people like them, (and us) on the planet.

  • @petekay62 couldn't have said it better myself

  • Thumbs up, Booopdooop. Well said!

  • this is magic just great stuff

  • Leaves emotions hanging in the air... simple stuff is always the best.

  • aria is one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard

  • Acker Bilk is an amazing musician. It is sad that people like Girls Aloud are so popular in the mainstream when Acker Bilk isn't. Still Acker Bilk is popular with all the right peopel. :-)

  • I loved this as a kid and think its still brilliant

  • Can you imagine this being played at a funeral? There wouldn't be a dry eye in the house.

  • It will be played at mine

  • makes me want to get a hot chocolate, put my pyjamas on and climb into bed and sleep the sleep of the innocent.

    Beautiful.

  • @petekay62 very well put if i may say so,

  • @petekay62 I agree. Goodnight. God bless.

  • This is really BEAUTIFULL! I love Acker Bilk and the montage of the stars is just magic. I've sent you a little effort of mine in the hope that it will make you feel as good as your video makes me feel. Thank you and snapshotofmountain!

  • As one atheist to another - who are you trying to convince?

  • Nice tune - no the most relaxing I've ever heard, but nice anyway. Don't mind the jerks, by the way - we're not all like them.

  • why don't you guys (below) spend less time judging other peoples beliefs and concentrate more time on learning how to spell.

  • The Bible and other religious books use analogies/real stories to show people the proper way of living. Don't listen to these people that are just searching FACTS. Just be a good person and the rest will take care of itself.

    Bless

  • have fun tryin to find a counter-argument

  • have fun tryin to live by something you read in a book. i once read a book that said hitler was doing the right thing. i now beleive that we should kill all jews. i'm going to tell my children that because i read it in a book (see, i beleive things that are written on paper cause that meens there true). can you see where i'm going. if we all told our children THAT, then in 2000 years time (if theres still human life) hitler will be the new jesus.

  • if you disobey or even fail to beleive you burn for eterity. sound loving to you? demanding belief and obedience isnt ruling through love. its ruling through fear.

  • snakey said that god was trying to keep them ignorant and the snake was telling the truth. not enough evidence? in ancient times, there is evidence saying that people worshipped snakes as a symbol of knowledge-and he gave adam and eve this knowledge, they knew too mcuh so god punished them. people worship a blood thirsty killer who kills hundreds of people. how, loving can god be if he makes so many cpeople suffer?

  • wanna know something about talking snakes? the bible says that adam and eve were not allowed to eat the fruit, the snake told them that if they ate the fruit, they would become knowledgable, the snake did not lie, they knew that they were naked and all that sort of thing when they ate the fruit, they became more than animals with the physical attributes of god.

  • I read the bible the other day...thought it was a little far fetched my self. Apparently snakes could talk in bible times?

  • OK just to tell you people we really were made from god you guys are just trying to be cool we are not a freak of nature we are people of the earth and god created us because he trusted himself and us and look where it brought us! :)

  • however, it is a thing made up by humans and whoever does believe in that and wants to do not have to force their belief on other people.

  • So, if God wasn't real, how do you think all this beautiful scenery and wonderful animals came into our earth, by some rock colliding into nowhere!?

  • theres a lot more evidence for the "rock colliding into nowhere" then some person or force that magically created everything.

  • There is no evidence, you weren't there at the beginning. 'The big Bang' is just a typical excuse that is used to distract the fact of the almighty. Just created by evolutionists to make the beginning of all time a logical matter to argue. I'll give you the fact that 'rock colliding into nowhere' may have been brief but open your eyes, a bang did not create you!

  • no one knows how or why we were created, but it definitley is not by god, that is just a story made up by people thousands of years go who were having a rubbish life and wanted something other than just what they were given, a 'paradise' they could go to when they died.

we are a complete freak of nature, no one knows how the big bang happened or if it was created by some 'god' and never will.

so stop bickering about it and get on with your life. do anything, it doesn't matter in the end! :)

  • Oh, thanks for being positive about over 2 Billion people's beliefs!

  • nice one. use sarcasm to get out of an argument. honestly i don't really mind the "2 billion" people who waste their entire lives worshiping someone they dont know is real. what bothers me is when they start trying to tell people about how miraculous he is when there is a hell of a lot more evidence of the big bang. lastly i would like to ask you how you would explain the fact that millions of years ago dinosaurs roamed the land but no humans. which there IS evidence for. WHERE DID WE COME FROM?

  • everyone seems to be retarded, this was down rated because it spoke out against what some people beleive in, how is that fair?! i rated this thumbs up becos it shows he/she isnt just going with the crowd, like the lords flock of sheep.

  • The rocks-crashing-together argument is as useful as a chocolate teapot. If I was to put all the raw components for Mr Bilk's clarinet into a box and shake them about, it would not form into a clarinet. It needs to be created by someone. Much like this Earth, and that someone is God!

  • a chocolate teapot would be nice

you could put chocolate milk in it and eat it

  • That's just silly and distracting from the point. I was looking for an analgy of how silly it all was, i.e. it would melt. There is only one God, through him we are all saved!

  • so jesus got crusified, that didnt help anyone, he helped people by curing the blind and crippled. if a modern day docor who saved millions of lives decided to let people kill him you wouldnt say that he died for us!

  • Belive what u belive in and do not command other to belive in what you belive in

  • So beautiful it gives me chills and makes me want to cry. ToT

  • This is one of the most beautifull, romantic instrumental songsI ever heard! I have another tip; Caravelli in San Remo. I don't have a video of it but I have the record and music. So if anyone is interested I can give you some information and much more about romantic instrumental music.

  • hay send me its downlaod link

  • Does anyone know who wrote this aria?

    Beautiful

  • without doubt one of the finest instumentals there is.

Just so beautiful you can't help shedding a tear when listening to it.

First heard it in the 70's and have heard nothing as relaxing and touching since

  • this is like being high

  • lol

  • This song... It makes me think about some emotional things..Sad things.. but, beautiful.. it's so onreal.. too ..yeah, how i gott to say, not from this time, al the hungrey, and everyting you now. and yes, i now my English is bad !

  • wot a song

  • brilliant

  • This song is birth-life-and death in 3:34....epic!

  • for some reason this song made me more emotional than relaxed. somehow it got me thinking about my mommy (who just passed away a few months ago)

  • R.I.P bro....

someday you will meet him/her out there in the universe of eternity.....it's no problem.

  • that's impossible

  • Please.....redeem me from evil.....

  • Simply love it. I listened to this piece first time when I was in my teen. I didn't know the title and the name of the musician, but I could recall the tune. Not after I owned my PC and went on net to search ..... for a long long time.... finally I found it two years ago. I just like to play it over and over whenever I am alone. It's really inspirational,... Acker has other wonder numbers too, great musicians.

  • close your eyes, listen , the purity of the music touches your very soul. I feel it build up then bring me down and reduce me to tears.

  • Relaxing and dreamy... and romantic... beautiful melody, thanks Nello for sharing and snapshotofharlech for posting this wonderful video!

  • this is awesome. very relaxing, im surprised it doesnt have more hits.

  • un bonheur à consommer sans modération ; à5ans j ai découvert cette musique céleste à 53 je continue.

  • what a great peice of music. I'm chilled out totally

  • The softness of his tone at the start draws you into an extraordinary emotional statement that on a personal level resonates with me all these years later.

When the drum kit kicks in, for me, something is lost, but yet at the start, a beautiful emotional expression.

  • Lovely!

  • Good piece - Chill out time from utube political war rooms.

  • wonderful piece of music thankyou for sharing

  • wasnt there an artist in the mid 70s who also did this song with the flute? I could have sworn I heard it from either Herbie Hancock or Herbie Mann. Anyone know?

  • Look for George Zamphirs music ,he plays the pan flute it may have been him.

  • Very heart felt piece of music. Not many musicians can tap into the human soul like this.

  • Beautiful piece of music. xx

  • Just wonderful!

  • Acker Bilk wrote this song for his daughter. This song has become my favorite "Bilk" song! It is hauntingly beautiful! Great video too boot! 10+ stars!

  • thank you once again for opening my book of memories, they never grow old.

  • I used to listen to this when I was a small child - now 42years old - my dad played it a lot. Reminds me of my childhood. Thanks.

  • Heard Baldan-Bembo sing "Aria" yesterday and the memories of 30 years ago flooded my brain. I recalled Acker Bilk and Shirley Bassey and went to Youtube for more; felt very melancholic; and old. Thanks Youtube for the pleasure you gave.
