I always found this scene to have some kind of sweet sadness.

They are clearly having fun, the sea and the sunset are gorgeous, the song sounds cheerful... But you can see the awkward looks, there is frustration because Nani can't get a job, and it's sad because you see this kind of broken family having fun (they should be doing this with their parents) but it works, and it gives hope.

I love it, because it means the director takes his audience seriously. :)

Hawaii is a HORRIBLE place to live. Visit, sure, it's great.

But it's got horrible schools, a shitton of crime, and the humidity is hellish.

@KisiroKitsune yeah, i live in maui. i'd much rather live here than in the mainland... I agree it has horrible schools, but it depends on the classes you have. Honors and AP classes have practically no bad students. What are you talking about crime? I hear about one murdur a year, that's a lot less than in the mainland. I feel safe in Hawaii. And you get used to the heat.

@MisterRusselJohnson It really depends on the island (and which city you intend to go to on said island) you live on but I will say this: A lot less dangerous than the other states. Granted we have crime but what country doesn't and it's not as insane as kisirokitsune says. I'd say the most common deaths we get are traffic accidents (which is a bitch of an issue if you live 'Oahu) aside from that, not much else, just dull and peaceful Hawai'i :)
