I witnessed a similar situation today on the freeway in Portland, OR. Dog jumped out of truck, chain snapped, dog run over by back tire. If I could have stopped I would have beat the driver! It's OK for the dog to be in the bed of a truck but it needs to be secured. The frantic driver ran out as if he cared. If he cared, the truck would have had a canopy or the dog would have been in a kennel. This is just stupid. I don't care how well trained the dog is. Shit happens & dogs can be unpredictable

i wish my dog lab would do that. i most likely be at a stop light and she would see a squirrel and be off like a prom dress.
