Along with Growing Up Skipper (check the commercial out if you haven't yet, because it's here), my mom also bought me this doll when I was a kid. Just like all my other dolls, my friends and I found ways to wreck the major functions from fascinated over-use!
I was the first on the block to get one with hair that didn't go to the toes. I was real disappointed and thought it was broken but they had changed the design because of problems getting the long hair back in. So I had this one - I came to love her but NO FAIR!
The blonde one was named Beautiful Aimee....being named Amy, I started spelling my name like the doll, and it stuck! Some friends still write my name Aimee...even though when I "grew up" I reverted back to the legal spelling ;-)
