  • Happy Birthday Duane!!! Love you & miss you always!!! Rock In Peace!!!

  • I remember watching this ! !

  • @RILEIGHJO I'm a youth, still grew up listening to Allman Bros. Gaga and Bieber won't last as long as Allman Bros. have and will! Life is good.

  • Made after Duane died but before Berry died. Before Dangerous Dan joined the band = only one guitar player = Dickey

  • I remember watching this on the ABC Friday night "Rock Concert". A better time in life....doobies fresh from Thailand, Red Mountain wine and and two boxes of Ritz crackers.

  • it doesn't get better than this. i feel sorry for the youth who will never grow up to good music..... they will endure a painful erosion of the ear drum from the likes of gaga and bieber. a sad state of affairs indeed

  • @RILEIGHJO I can't wait for their performance at the Wanee Music Festival in Florida...and I'm 25 so I'm still youth-ish :P Long live ABB!!

  • Cause there's a man down there, might be your man, I don't know...

  • this is absolutely fucking spectacular

  • where was this recorded at???? love it!

  • This is the youngest that I've ever seen the boys actually perform. Although Dickie was about still 30 here.

  • dickey betts is amazing

  • Dickey Betts really does it on this! Duane Allman though was one of the Baddest guitar players of all time. That Bass player Berry Oakley was also one of the best.

  • This shouldn't be considered "southern" rock, but "transitional." This group is the epitome of a confluence of many styles that invaded into the transitional south from every direction whether that be Europe (Eric Clapton), or from Cuba (percussion). I'm sure looking back on it, everyone standing on the outside from Blues, to punk, to progressive rock, and beyond, just has to admit that this is what they wanted to acheive.

  • Bummer-terrible video quality. I remember watching this on "In Concert" on a Friday. One of my bands ALMOST got the album version of the guitar solo down-one slide gibson guitar, one gibson slightly muted. IT WAS AWESOME. too bad the guys quit before we performed it.

  • I'm watching this instead of the Super Bowl Halftime "show"!

  • @Kalooookalay Awesome!

  • @Kalooookalay so you should be!

  • One dickhead out of 11,701 people don't like this

  • @8aPeach2 Yep, there's always one dick in the crowd. This is a great song/band!

  • @8aPeach2 no he likes it, hes just a troll in denial.

  • Mike Bloomfield also does a cool version of this Elmore James classic.

  • One way out_001

  • One of the most talented bands in history. Have seen them live several times-always fantastic!

  • to brokenchair88. allman brothers wrote "in memory of elizabeth reed"

  • great cover of a classic elmore james song.

  • @ojpdrummer et al:

This is actually one of the great compositions by Sonny Boy Williamson II, AKA Aleck "Rce" Miller. Amazing arrangement by ABB.

  • @ojpdrummer et al:

I must apologize. It appears Elmore James may have written the song. The original ABB release on "Eat a Peach" credits Sonny Boy (as do several other sources over the years) however, Elmo' recorded it first. Pretty good article on the song in Wikipedia, if anyone else is interested.

  • Out of reach!

    Thanks!

  • Great version!!! Thanks for posting!!!
